Apple’s first official retail store in Singapore (and South-East Asia), Apple Orchard Road, open it’s door last Saturday, 27th May 2017 at 10am. The store opening hours are from 10am to 10pm daily.
If you are the first few in the queue (I am not too sure what is the cut off number), you will be given a door gift which includes an Apple t-shirt that is made in the USA and a sticker.
Android Pay is now available in Singapore and it is the first country outside of US and UK to have Android Pay! It is the first Asian country to have Android Pay as well.
Android Pay works with VISA and MasterCard issued by the following banks in Singapore: DBS, OCBC, POSB, Standard Chartered and UOB.
Samsung Pay will be available for use in Singapore from next Thursday, 16th June 2016 on Samsung Galaxy Note 5 4G+, S6 edge+ 4G+, S7 4G+ and S7 edge 4G+.
Singapore is the 5th country after Spain, China, US and South Korea to have Samsung Pay.
Unfortunately, not all banks are on the list. For the initial roll out only credit cards from these five banks are supported: POSB, DBS Bank, OCBC Bank, United Overseas Bank (UOB) and Standard Chartered Bank (SCB).
In 2016, Samsung Pay will start global expansion beginning with China in March, followed by Australia, Brazil, Singapore, Spain and the U.K. later in the year. Additionally, Canada will be added to the new launch roadmap. Samsung Pay is currently available on select Galaxy devices including S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, Note5 as well as premium and mid-range options such as the 2016 models of both Galaxy A5 and A7.
