To celebrate my 42nd birthday, Li Xiang proposed weekly steakhouse visits throughout March. We kicked off with The Feather Blade, where I had the Feather Blade Steak and Li Xiang ordered the Portobello Burger.

Officially past 40, I'm trying to slow down and prioritise quality of life over quantity. That means splurging on Japanese produce at Donki and booking bigger, more convenient hotel rooms when travelling, rather than always chasing the cheapest option.

My 38th birthday, ending nearly a month of blog silence. The first celebration was with Li Xiang at Cure, a one-Michelin-star restaurant serving 'Nua' Irish cuisine by chef-owner Andrew Walsh in a casual yet refined setting.

My 37th birthday, celebrated jointly with my brother, whose birthday falls just four days after mine. We dined with family at JAAN by Kirk Westaway, a one-Michelin-star restaurant atop Swissotel The Stamford in Singapore.

For my 36th birthday, Li Xiang and I had a last-minute buffet at Edge, Pan Pacific Singapore, on 14th March 2020. As my brother's birthday is four days after mine, we also celebrated together at Lei Garden, CHIJMES.

I celebrated my 35th birthday with a one-night staycation at Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel, a gift from my mom. They upgraded me to a Premium Deluxe Room, with late checkout and a good breakfast at Marriott Cafe.

My brother and I celebrated our 34th and 29th birthdays in Bali with our family, my first time there, in March 2018. The flights were essentially free, redeemed from S$500 Circles.Life travel vouchers.

I turned 33 yesterday, with my brother turning 28 in three days. We celebrated together with our family at Naked Finn in Gillman Barracks. As Li Xiang had a housewarming, I'll celebrate with her tomorrow.

I took leave for my 32nd birthday, which turned into an errand day. I started at the Singtel Shop to move Li Xiang's plan to SIM-only, then to OCBC to open her an OCBC 360 account for higher interest rates.

Yesterday was my first birthday past 30, making me 31. Last year, Li Xiang and I celebrated in Sydney; this year we stayed in Singapore to save money before our June travels. My brother's birthday falls four days after mine.

Yesterday was my 30th birthday, the big three-oh, and I'm officially out of my twenties. I've just returned from a week's holiday in Sydney with Li Xiang. It's a lovely place to retire, though generally pricier than Singapore.

I spent the weekend in Kuala Lumpur, from Friday, 23rd March to Sunday, 25th March 2012, to celebrate my birthday. We stayed at the Piccolo Hotel in Bukit Bintang, a fantastic location between Lot 10 and Fahrenheit 88, near Pavilion.

This year, Li Xiang's birthday celebration was a simple one. We had an early dinner at Jones The Grocer in Mandarin Gallery, did some shopping around Orchard, then finished with an early supper at Ramen Santouka in Cuppage Terrace.

I am twenty-seven today, firmly in my late twenties now! Li Xiang surprised me with two cakes from Pine Garden delivered to my office. My colleagues lit the candles and sang, embarrassingly letting the whole office in on it.

Celebrated Li Xiang's birthday with a Friday stay at Marina Bay Sands. We booked early, choosing the Rise & Shine package with one night and breakfast for two, paying S$389 before tax. Pricey, but totally worth it!

Celebrated my 26th birthday at Chili's in Resorts World yesterday, my second visit after the Tanglin Mall branch. The food's fantastic but pricey; I love the free-flow Tostada chips at S$6.90, though the S$41.90 steak isn't worth it.

Today is Li Xiang's 25th birthday, and this year was more relaxed, with the whole day to ourselves. We had dinner at TWG Tea at Ion Orchard, though the mains are pricey at around S$27 to S$32.
