My Gunmetal Black Steel Band for the Pebble Time Steel finally arrived on 11th November 2015, three months after the watch itself. It's heavy and well-built, though a little large, so I'll need precision screwdrivers to remove a few links.
The Pebble Time Steel is the second Pebble Kickstarter I've backed, after the original Pebble Watch two years earlier. The Pebble Time campaign broke Kickstarter's record as the most-funded project, raising US$20,338,986 from 78,471 backers.
Following my earlier post on watching Netflix in Singapore via UnoTelly SmartDNS, today I feature an alternative, Unblock-Us. Founded in Toronto in 2010, Unblock-Us was the first company to offer a DNS-based SmartDNS solution for accessing content unavailable locally.
The LG G Watch R has been available in Singapore since 15th November 2014 for S$398. It runs a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 with a 1.3-inch P-OLED display, 512MB RAM, 4GB storage, and a 410mAh battery, on Android Wear.
Three official Android Wear devices are out, two already on sale, the Samsung Galaxy Gear Live and the LG G Watch. The third and most anticipated, Motorola's Moto 360, should arrive next month. Android Wear is Google's smartwatch-focused version.
Two months after the Pebble Smartwatch reached Singapore, sole distributor Leader Radio Technologies has officially launched the Pebble Steel here from 1st August 2014. It retails for S$359, and to celebrate, the first 500 units sold come with a bonus.
There are two ways to watch Netflix in Singapore: a VPN or a DNS. I prefer the DNS method, simply pointing your router's DNS to UnoTelly's SmartDNS. Once configured, everyone connected to the router can access Netflix on their devices.
More than a year after I got my Pebble, the Pebble Smartwatch is now officially available in Singapore, brought in by Leader Radio Technologies as the sole distributor. It's been on sale since 26th May 2014 for S$249.
The LifeTrak Zone C410 is a fitness watch from Salutron, Inc. Founded in 1995, Salutron was among the first companies to develop On-Demand, ECG-accurate heart rate monitoring, growing from commercial cardio equipment into a name for chest straps and watches.
The TomTom Multi-Sport GPS Watch tracks activities like indoor and outdoor running, cycling, and swimming. It features an extra-large display, full-screen graphical training tools, and easy one-button navigation, monitoring key metrics such as pace and calories burned across your workouts.
Officially launched on 22nd October 2013, the Sony SmartWatch 2 comes in two versions: with a black metallic strap at S$338 or a black silicone strap at S$288. Sony also sells straps separately, and it uses a standard 24mm strap.
The Pebble Watch was the 9th Kickstarter project I backed, and it broke the record as the most highly funded ever. Against a US$100,000 goal, it raised US$10,266,845 from 68,929 backers when it funded in May 2012.
TikTok and LunaTik are multi-touch watch kits for the sixth-generation iPod nano, the most successful Kickstarter project at the time, raising US$941,718. I was skeptical, but as the deadline neared Li Xiang backed LunaTik for me, thanks dear!
