Sony Xperia S

Announced at CES 2012, Sony Xperia S (the link is still pointing to SonyEricsson.com) is Sony’s first smartphone after she broke up with Ericsson.

The specs for Sony Xperia S is pretty impressive (1.5GHz Dual-Core + 1GB RAM) and it does supports NFC as well. The only complaint I have is it should be launching with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) instead of Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It will be available in 2 colors, black or white.

Nokia Lumia 900

Nokia Lumia 900 was announced at CES 2012 but unfortunately at this point of time, it is only available exclusively for AT&T at launch time. I am pretty sure it will be in other countries as well. For Singapore, maybe SingTel will bring them in with their LTE service?

Now, if only Nokia included in NFC to the Lumia 900 and it would be perfect!

Twelve South PlugBug Charger

Bought the Twelve South PlugBug Charger at the Apple Store at Fashion Show Mall, Las Vegas for US$34.95 and after tax, it costs US$37.78 (S$49.14).

The PlugBug charger acts as an US travel adapter for your MacBook Pro/Air MacSafe Power Adapter and on top of that it gives you an additional USB port that allows you to charge your iPhone or iPad. I find it super useful for hotels that has limited power sockets. If you prefer not to attached it to your MacSafe Power Adapter, no worries as it can be used as a standalone USB charger.

Looking Back 2011

In my Looking Back 2010 post, I stated I wanted to visit the US and see some snow in 2011 and I did! I am posting this post at my uncle’s house in LA!

For my 2011 resolution/wish, I would like to visit the US or any country with snow! I have not seen let alone touch snow in my 26 years of life before (Snow City is not counted as it is crap). I am so going to make this wish comes through. Tentatively planning to go to the US in December 2011.

Apple – The Company Store

After my trip to Google Building 44, I headed down to Apple – The Company Store which is located at 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, CA 95014. It is about 15 minutes drive from Google Building 44.

The famous “I visited the mothership” t-shirt is no longer in print, and now the new t-shirt design prints “I visited the Apple campus, but that’s all I’m allowed to say.”

I visited the Apple campus, but that's all I'm allowed to say.

Google Building 44 (Android Mascots)

Google Building 44 is located at 1635 Charleston Road, Mountain View, CA 94043. I rented a car from Hertz and drove there from San Francisco. Took me about an hour to drive from SF.

When I went reached there, I noticed some snow on the ground and I thought it doesn’t snow there and indeed it doesn’t. Those are artificial snow that Google made for the Christmas season. Too bad I missed the whole white snow part as when I am there, most of it has already melted.

Garmin Nuvi 1390LMT

Got the Garmin Nuvi 1390LMT (Amazon Link) from RadioShack (938 Market Street, San Francisco). Is hard to find electronics store around San Francisco and RadioShack is the nearest to my hotel (Chancellor Hotel!

The guy who attended to me was super helpful (I think in US, the service is generally good) and he recommended me the Garmin Nuvi 1390LMT as it comes with Lifetime Map Updates and Lifetime Traffic.
