mig33 Kopnas 2012
Today marks the full 2 years of working in mig33 and the start of my 3rd year with mig33. I just came back from mig33 Kopnas 2012 from Jakarta, Indonesia.
It is a yearly gathering of mig33 users in Indonesia. Kopnas is derived from the word “Kopi” (Coffee) and “Nasional” (National) which means a gathering for coffee.
The event starts at 9am till 8pm and is held at Plaza Barat Senayan, Jakarta, Indonesia.
mig33 XL Starter Pack

miniblog
We also officially launched our mig33 miniblog service on that day. I have been working on the miniblog for than 6 months together with my colleagues and to see it goes live and being used by 300,000 daily active users really gives you a sense of satisfaction. It is the same feeling that I got when I created my WordPress plugins and seen it being used in so many websites and having a total download count of 6.3 million!

mig33 Kopnas 2012 – Merchandises
I have been to some smaller mig33 users gathering before but this is my first time attending a mig33 event of this scale and size.
Despite the event starting at 9am, the crowd only started coming in around 1pm.
I did not know how much the mig33 users are fanatic about mig33 till this event. 90% of the users come to the event wearing their own mig33 community t-shirts, some brought alone their banners as well. We have booths allocated to different mig33 communities as well as mig33 users selling mig33 merchandises (some are even handmade) featuring our famous migBots!
miterbot is one of the stall selling mig33 t-shirts and they look nice!
I kinda like this t-shirt with migBot holding a green heard shape with the words “GREEN”, I kinda regretted not buying it.
mig33 Kopnas 2012 – Communities
There are quite a number of cases of mig33 users got to know each other through mig33 and got married, like the users below!
As a mig33 staff, you are like a celebrity to the users, when you are there, everyone wants a photo taken with you!

mig33 Kopnas 2012 – Performance
No event is complete without performance! In mig33 Kopnas 2012, there are performance by local bands such as Pee Wee Gaskins, Danger Rangers, Slank and Last Child and local artists such as Indah Dewi Pertiwi, Lina Geboy (who went viral on YouTube) an d Gisella Anastasia (Indonesian Idol Finalist 2008)!
