In Looking Back 2013, I'd hoped to travel to Japan, but that never happened. Even so, I'm wrapping up a 13-day holiday in Hong Kong. My resolution for 2014: time to save money after all this travelling.

Thanks to Samsung for inviting me to the Galaxy Note 4 World Tour 2014 last Wednesday. I played with the Note 4, Note Edge, Gear S, and Gear VR. The Note 4 and Edge impressed me with superb build.
On 18th June 2014, Adobe unveiled its biggest Creative Cloud update yet, spanning major upgrades to its desktop apps, new iOS mobile apps, a Creative Cloud SDK, and a new Creative Cloud Photography plan.
It's World Cup season, and minifiglabs.com has created custom LEGOfied minifigure sets for eight qualifying countries: Brazil, Spain, Japan, Germany, Italy, Argentina, England, and the Netherlands. Each poseable figure comes with a metallic gold trophy.
The Nokia XL, one of the first Nokia Android phones, arrives in Singapore from 13th June 2014 at noon. Initially it's online-exclusive at handphoneshop.com/NokiaXL until 27th June, then available nationwide at Nokia stores and solution partners from the 28th.
The much-anticipated Xbox One finally reaches Singapore from 23rd September 2014, over six months after its November 2013 North American launch. The console retails for S$639, or S$739 with Kinect. Every system includes the console and a 500GB hard drive.
The Sony Cyber-shot RX100 III arrives in Singapore from June 2014 for S$1,199. It isn't a successor to the RX100 II, which stays on sale at S$899 for a different audience. The III updates the lens to a ZEISS 24-70mm.
The LG G3 arrives in Singapore at selected telcos from 14th to 21st June 2014, and authorised retailers from the 28th. The 16GB model retails for S$868 and the 32GB for S$928. Pre-orders bundle a Quick Circle case.
As part of the 2014 Logitech Color Collection, the Wireless Mouse M235 arrives in four new colours, Green Envy, Bubble Bath, Blue Bliss, and Daring Dive. It keeps the same S$29 price and is already in stores.
Derrick Koh, Lenovo's Head of Communications for Asia Pacific, messaged me on Facebook to invite me to the Lenovo booth media tour at MWC 2014. I dropped by with Jason Goh and previewed new phones like S860, S850, and S660.
On Tuesday, 25th February 2014, the day began with breakfast and a 30-minute talk by Nokia Entertainment Evangelist Dean Patrick on Nokia Mix Radio. At MWC, we joined two blogger sessions with Dirk Didascalou, SVP of Mobile Phones R&D.
On Monday, 24th February 2014, we woke at 6am to reach the venue by 7.30 for good seats, ahead of the 8am press conference. Nokia announced just five new low-end devices: the Nokia X, X+, XL, 220, and Asha 230.

Alongside its three Android phones, the Nokia X, X+, and XL, Nokia also announced the Nokia 220 and Asha 230. Both come in single or dual-SIM versions, and the Nokia 220 retails for €29, roughly S$51, running an ODM OS.
Nokia has launched its first family of Android phones, sort of, at MWC 2014. I say 'sort of' because the Nokia X family lacks Google Play services, swapping them for Microsoft's, and the Nokia X slots between Asha and Lumia.
In Looking Back 2012, I'd hoped to travel to several countries, which I sort of managed. My 2013 wish is to travel even more, to places like Australia, Japan, Korea, London, or New York. I'm posting this from New York.
