Yesterday I went to an OCBC dinner with my mom at Grand Shanghai. The food was rather lousy, but the activities were cool, with sketching, fan painting and trishaw photos. My mom did a fan painting while we queued.

Fearless And I Not Stupid Too
I caught Fearless on the second day of Lunar New Year, and it's easily Jet Li's best film in years. I still think he suits wuxia movies more than modern-day fighting ones. It's also touching towards the end. Highly recommended.
University Enrollment
During Chinese New Year we paid the usual visits to relatives, and the three of us siblings gathered at Mr Yuan's house; it's been a long time since I saw him after his retirement. I've also enrolled at NUS.
WordPress 2.01
WordPress 2.01 was released two days ago, fixing about 114 bugs. You can now specify an upload directory and whether to use date-based storage, caching has been fixed under certain PHP environments, and permalinks now work in odd setups.
Happy Lunar New Year 2006
We had our reunion dinner at just past four yesterday, pretty early, leaving the whole night to relax. My youngest sister suggested calling my primary school Chinese teacher so she could collect hong bao.
My WP Plugins Update Feb 06
It's the eve of Chinese New Year, and I've released updates to six of my plugins, some just bug fixes; check the changelog for details. Among them, WP-DBManager 2.01 for WordPress 2.0 lets you optimise and back up your database.
Thailand Friends
I had an eventful weekend showing our Thailand friends around Singapore for shopping. They visited Chinatown, Little India, Funan IT Mall, HarbourFront and Suntec City. The most memorable was Little India, only my second time there.

Wallace And Gromit
I caught Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit yesterday at GV Jurong Point. I'd heard mixed reviews, but I found it a good show, recommended, very funny and cute at once, especially those bunnies. A delightful watch overall.
WordPress 2.0
WordPress 2.0 has finally been announced on the official site, with details about the changes. In the meantime, I've updated all eight of my plugins to be compatible with WordPress 2.0, including WP-Stats 2.00, which displays your blog statistics.
It’s 2006
Happy New Year, everyone, it's 2006, just six more months to Germany 2006! I had dinner at CA yesterday, sitting there four hours, then chilled at Suntec's Fountain of Wealth before heading to the Esplanade for the fireworks.

3 Days To 2006
Finally, an update! I've been very busy lately, and only found time in camp to post this. I've just come back from my first gym session at SAFTI; I must exercise before I get fatter.
Thailand Trip
Day 1, Friday 2nd December 2005: our maxi cab arrived at 8am and we reached the airport just before 9am, breakfasting at the Terminal 1 canteen before checking in. Our flight FD3502 left at 11am, reaching Bangkok around noon.
Back From Thailand
I'm back from Thailand. Yesterday, when I switched on the main power in my room, a bright white flare burst from my cable modem for three seconds, and moments later I smelled smoke; my cable modem was completely fried.

I went to Sitex 2005 on Saturday, quite crowded with a lifestyle exhibition and Big Boyz Toyz alongside. I finally got myself a black Apple iPod Video 30GB for $521, plus a $26 accessories voucher.
GaMerZ File Explorer 1.10
I've released GaMerZ File Explorer 1.10. In case you don't know, it's a PHP script that lets you browse a directory much like Windows Explorer browses folders in Windows. Do check out the live demo to see it in action.

I caught Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire at GV Grand, having booked a week ago; luckily I still got an odd 10.10pm slot, the rest sold out. The film runs a fair while.

I finally got my posting order, a month after downgrading. As of yesterday, 14th November 2005, I've been posted to SAFTI MI, INTEC, the Instructional Design and Development branch. I had mixed feelings, since it wasn't quite what I'd expected.

Here's a clip of Chicken Little dancing to O-Zone's famous song Dragostea Din Tei. It's often shown before movies to remind audiences to silence or switch off their phones. The 3.2MB clip is well worth a watch.

I typed a long post, clicked publish and lost it all. Anyway, I caught a sneak preview of Doom at GV Grand. The storyline is simple; I'm not sure why some reviews rated it poorly.
