Monday Blues
An 'exciting' Monday, a last-minute notice that next semester's IGRA elective will teach Java, not C++. The quote: 'the implementation language for IGRA is Java, not C++'. Sucks; how can Java replace C++ in games development?

Upgraded the site to B2 v0.6pre5, which adds PingBack and TrackBack, features I don't understand. The headline additions: TrackBack support, distinct from MT's standalone version, and Pingback, a new way to notify other blogs you've linked.
Woke at 3pm and did nothing all day, pure slacking. Dinner at the Singapore Swimming Club with my family. Came back to a tiny bit of CANI, that's all. A boring day. Also did DEUI evaluations.
Nudged this post's time to keep it within the day. School morning for the entrepreneurship presentation slides, due Tuesday. Then a walk at Marina with Lian, where I spotted my classmate Lynn being interviewed by MTV.
UT2003 has gone gold; it'll hit shelves in about two weeks, and I can't wait. Sure to be a great game with fantastic graphics. As the forum post says, they shipped the release version to manufacturing.
An hour of Warcraft III with Lian at Orchard Cineleisure, then Suntec to help someone with something; can't say what, since they read this site. Accompanied her back to school for her project, playing Quake 3.
Not Starcraft II, but Starcraft: Ghost. At a Tokyo Game Show press conference today, Blizzard Entertainment unveiled Starcraft: Ghost, a tactical-action console game set in Blizzard's epic Starcraft universe. Console, not PC, which is rather surprising.
A walk at Suntec with Lian, McDonald's for dinner, pricey. Got update and delete functions working in ASP for IWED, but add function stumps me; I can't find the bug or understand code. PHP beats ASP.
Just back from Tampines Mall, haven't bought the present, wandered around, though Zhi Wei did buy things. We've started CANI assignment 2, setting the timing and camera angles; once the models are done, we'll swap the boxes.
Started IWED assignment 2; the layout mirrors this site, with different content, programmed in ASP via Dreamweaver. I'd have used PHP and MySQL, which the teacher allowed, but it'd give my group member a hard time.
Handed in both assignments on time; I'll upload my completed work to the site's portfolio by semester's end. My P&Q2 assignments are done, so just the test to focus on. DEUI has assignment 2's second submission left.
Finally finished my DEUI Assignment 2 first submission, due tomorrow before noon. My P&Q2 assignment 1 is nearly there, just the executive summary left, which I'll do at school before the 5pm deadline. More deadlines loom.
Out with Lian all day, so happy. Watched So Close, about two hours, a great film, action-packed and touching. Then NYDC for dinner before walking to the Esplanade, lingering a while before I sent her home.
It's 14 September, d-N-a's 18th birthday, so a Happy Birthday to Ai Lian, with best wishes and all the best in everything. Got through the second grouping of my DEUI assignment 2; one more plus animation.
Thankfully nothing happened to the US on September 11th. Let's pray for world peace, and that the US won't attack Iraq. Busy all day with DEUI, hence the late update. On the animation; my Flash creativity sucks.
Today marks the anniversary of September 11th attacks. New Yorkers are holding ceremonies and remembrances on Wednesday to mark the first anniversary, commemorating the thousands of lives lost at the World Trade Center a year ago.
One more day to the September 11th anniversary; I wonder if anything happens tomorrow. Let's pray for world peace. Stayed school till 6.30pm on P&Q2 assignment with my group, done. One assignment down, six to go.
At lunch I went with friends to see our P&Q2 teacher outside ICT office, where five lecturers were prowling the level, catching students for long hair, dyed hair, missing lanyards, slippers or singlets. They mean business.
Breakfast at Crystal Jade Kitchen, average to my taste buds. Bought a present for someone special, her birthday a few days off; she's turning 18. Headed to Suntec to work on P&Q2 assignment with my group.
Woke in the afternoon and spent most of it on the 'sticky news post', pretty much done. Met my friends in the evening for dinner at Geylang, then Orchard Road, wandering until 9.30pm before heading home.
Learnt Java animation in my DSAL practical and skinning in CANI, both tough, skinning especially. Cut my hair in the afternoon, since Monday brings SP's strict discipline check; no playing around this time, they mean it.
Posting earlier these days now school's on, early nights, and I'll try to post daily. DEUI assignment 2 part 1's deadline was extended, bad news: it means more work, categorising in three ways instead of one.
