Happy 35th Birthday To Me
Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel
Celebrated my 35th birthday with a one night staycation at Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel. Thanks to my mom for the gift.
Because it is my birthday staycation, they upgraded me to the Premium Deluxe Room, which I guess is just a facing Orchard Road view. They also allow me a late checkout at 2 pm.
Breakfast is included at Marriott Cafe. Both the timing and the breakfast spread are good. Usually, for hotels, the breakfast ends at 10 am, but for Marriott Tang Plaza, it ends at 11 am. If you are not staying at the hotel, you still can come for the breakfast buffet at S$42++ per pax.
The only thing I don’t like about Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel is the lift. The elevator algorithm seems to be very inefficient and slow. This resulted in the hotel guests having to wait very long to board the lift.
Osaka Kitchen
Birthday dinner with the wife was at Osaka Kitchen located in Japan Food Town at level 4 of Wisma Atria.
Food is good, and the prices are reasonable. But remember to book in advance as it is always full during the weekends. Also, when you book, you can request to be seated at the counter seats, so you can see your meal being cooked in front of you.
There are two omakase sets for dinner. Set A includes the famous Ohmi Wagyu Beef Steak for S$90. If you don’t take beef, go for Set B at S$60 which replaces the steak with Garlic Chicken.
Imperial Treasure Fine Teochew
Birthday dinner with the family was at Imperial Treasure Fine Teochew at Vivocity.
I think the food is good, but being Teochew food, some people might find it plain and blend.
