Apple iPhone 4 Universal Dock Adapters
When I got my iPhone 3G in 2008, I hunted everywhere for the universal dock adapter, finding it nowhere on Apple Singapore or at resellers. I only found one a year later in Taiwan at an authorised reseller.
The iPhone 3G era, from telco launches and price plans to early docks and cases.

Received my Apple iPhone 3GS/3G USB Desktop Sync & Charge Cradle from MobileFun yesterday. At just £9.99 it's a great alternative to Apple's own iPhone 3G Dock and Universal Dock, working exactly the same, bundling cradle, cable and charger.
I found this really cheap external battery charger for the iPhone 3G via HardwareZone forums. The seller, free-4-flying in Hong Kong, runs occasional sales; I've seen it as low as US$6.99, though I paid US$8.48, around S$11.87 including shipping.
Before I start this tutorial, full credit to crimsontwo from xSellize and joshua.menke; I've merely improved on crimsontwo's work. In his thread on running the Prowl Python script on your iPhone, he explains how to get Gmail push working.
Last year I queued at the SingTel iPhone 3G launch as an ordinary consumer; this year I attended with a media pass. I arrived early, around 1.30pm, since I had errands at Funan, and the media event began about 3.30pm.
SingTel has released its iPhone 3GS prices for the iFlexi plans. This post also links to my pricing write-ups for the later iPhone 4, 4S, 5, 5c/5s, 6/6 Plus and 6s/6s Plus on SingTel, for easy comparison across generations.
Apple has announced the iPhone 3GS, where the S stands for speed. It looks identical to the iPhone 3G but adds improved performance, a slightly better battery, faster 7.2Mbps HSDPA up from 3.6Mbps, and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR.
Apple has announced iPhone OS 3.0, arguably the OS the iPhone should have shipped with. Expected features include in-app purchases, peer-to-peer connectivity, custom apps talking directly to hardware, turn-by-turn navigation, push notifications, and finally cut, copy and paste.
Last Wednesday, the Apple Store Singapore ran a one-day shopping event with online discounts, though they were pretty paltry, just S$20 off an iPod nano. Still, S$20 off beats nothing, so I grabbed a Belkin charger.
I flew to Jakarta for one day to attend Sugih's wedding. My Valuair flight left on 9th January 2009 at 1.35pm, returning the next day at 3.20pm. His wedding was on the 9th at 7pm at Hotel Mulia Senayan.
Here's a tutorial on configuring your iPhone, iPhone 3G/3GS or iPod Touch to connect to NUS Wireless. We use the NUS SSID rather than NUSOPEN, since NUS is PEAP-protected and much faster. Note an iOS 4 bug affects this too.
I've been swamped with school lately, despite a one-week holiday I spent catching up on never-ending assignments. There seems to be one due every week, all report writing, which basically tests your Googling, paraphrasing and, frankly, smoking skills.
I bought the black SwitchEasy Capsule Neo case for my iPhone 3G for S$49.90 from GizmoSquare on Tanjong Pagar Road. I like that I can pay by PayPal online and collect at the physical store.
I was at the Singapore iPhone 3G launch at SingTel ComCentre at midnight on 22nd August 2008. Arriving around 9.15pm to queue, I was 43rd according to the sticker on my application form. There were two parts to the queue.

It's been a while since I blogged about my personal life, and I haven't watched a movie in over a month; my last was The Dark Knight in KL. I've also just finished my first week of school.
Singapore Telecommunications will start selling Apple's third-generation iPhone in Singapore on 22nd August. SingTel's Singapore CEO Allen Lew said there are tens of thousands on its reservation lists, with those who registered online getting priority for the phone at launch.
It's Friday, 11th July 2008 in Singapore, and the iPhone 3G has launched in New Zealand and Australia, with more countries following by time zone. Here there are rumours the iPhone 3G will come later than the expected September 2008.
It looks exactly like the old iPhone, but it's much cheaper: US$199 for 8GB and US$299 for 16GB, around S$272 and S$408 respectively, though both require a two-year contract. The key difference is the addition of 3G.
