Chinese New Year. I find it getting more boring each year, as my cousins grow older with their own families and our gathering time keeps shrinking. As kids we'd play late into the night; now it's all far briefer.
Nokia N96 specifications have leaked: HSDPA and quad-band GSM, measuring 103 by 55 by 18-20mm and weighing 125g. It packs WLAN with UPnP/DLNA, 16GB internal flash plus microSD, 256MB memory and a 2.8-inch QVGA display.
It's the year of the rat, which is my year, since I was born in 1984, some 24 years ago, and I turn 24 next month. I hereby wish all Chinese a happy and prosperous Lunar New Year. Huat ah!
Product information for the Nokia N82 in black, courtesy of Engadget. A sleek dark take on Nokia's photography-focused Nseries flagship, pairing its 5-megapixel Carl Zeiss camera and Xenon flash with an understated, fingerprint-prone finish that suits the device rather nicely.
I've Twitterised this site via Remy Sharp, my WordPress site via Twitter for WordPress, my Facebook profile via the Twitter app, my Windows Live Messenger via Twessenger and Messenger Plus! Live via Twit4Live. Do check out my Twitter profile, GaMerZ.
I'm so swamped with school, with assignments and tutorials coming non-stop. With Chinese New Year next week, I've one CS3216 assignment and four tutorials, two CS2301, one MA1312 and one CS2106, all due Tuesday. So stressful!
If you enjoy my WordPress plugins, perhaps consider becoming a fan of my Lester Chan's WordPress Plugins page on Facebook. It's a handy place for updates and discussion, and your support would mean a lot to me. Thanks!
Update: the image below turned out to be fake; please see my August 2014 post for the real Singapore future MRT/LRT map. This was the latest track system map, including the newly announced Thomson and Eastern Region MRT lines.
HTML 5 is the first major update to HTML in ten years, since HTML 4 in December 1997, and I'm looking forward to it. It adds APIs for drawing 2D graphics, embedding and controlling multimedia, and managing client-side storage.
Here are some post-install details on Windows 7 M1, originally posted by Kenipnet in Neowin's forums. Over the weekend he finally tried the build but was disappointed, as his primary machine asked for a SATA driver.
I found this poem, My Spelling Checker, rather amusing during my CS2301 lecture today, so I thought I'd share it. The wrong version still passes the spell check: Eye halve a spelling chequer, it came with my pea sea.
It's the first week of my new semester, year 2, semester 2; all going well, I'll graduate in year 4, semester 1, around the end of 2009. My modules this semester include Operating Systems and Business and Technical Communication.
Sun Microsystems will pay $1 billion to buy MySQL, the popular open-source database, about $800 million in cash for its privately held stock plus roughly $200 million in assumed options. MySQL CEO Marten Mickos will join Sun's senior team.
After some miscommunication, I finally collected my spectacles from Optics Today at Queensway Shopping Centre, which I've patronised since secondary school. The shop is owned by my uncle's old classmate, who always gives us very good prices on glasses.
Copied from Neowin: don't you love how Facebook has an app for everything? Don't you love wading through friends' profiles just to find their Wall? And don't you love how Facebook looks more and more like MySpace by the day?
I blog faster than Li Xiang, who's only finished Day 1, so here's my version of our Genting trip. Day 1, Wednesday 2nd January 2008: we reached Golden Mile Complex and took a Grassland bus, departing at 7:15am.
I'm back from a four-day, three-night Genting trip, my fourth visit. The first was in 1990 aged six, the second in 1993 aged nine, the third in 1997 aged thirteen, and now, eleven years on, I'm 24. How time flies.
My parents bought me a new Hitachi 32-inch LCD TV, the L32A01A, to replace my old 21-inch Toshiba CRT. We got it at Best Denki VivoCity for S$1,099, with a three-year warranty, HDMI cable and wall-mounting bracket included.
My 2007/2008 Semester 1 results: A- in Introduction to Computer Networks, A- in the Information Systems Development Project, B in Management of Information Systems and B+ in Introduction to Cybercrime. My CAP is 3.65. Sorry, CS3214 teammates, for our project.
I wish all my visitors, readers, commenters and plugin users a Merry Christmas, and I hope you've all received your presents! I got mine all the way from Hong Kong, an authentic Louis Vuitton card holder. Thanks, mom and dad!
Amazon's estimated shipping date proved quite accurate: the site said it would arrive on 18th December 2007, and it really did, in fact early that morning around 10am. I've already read through the entire WordPress For Dummies.
