Spinner Drive
Spinner Drive is the fourth Kickstarter project that I backed from mininch.
Spinner Drive is essentially a screwdriver with removable bits that comes with a torque maximized spinner wheel.
Torque is the force applied times the distance from the axis you are rotating about. With the inclusion of our spinner wheel, the diameter of the handle is increased, thus allowing more torque to be generated. In the same compact footprint, you’ll be able to produce a lot more force compare to traditional screwdrivers of similar sizes. Compared to the T-Handle screwdriver, the spinner drive has the upper hand in terms of rotation speed. Ideal for repairing larger pieces like furniture, bicycle, home appliances, etc.
For Spinner Drive, mininch raised a total of US$201,076 out of the initial goal of US$7,000 from 2,905 backers. The Kickstarter project started on 18th April 2019 and became fully funded on 1st June 2019.
The shipping was delayed for a month as their original estimated delivery date was in October 2019. I received my Spinner Drive on 29th November 2019.
I backed the Tough Edition Plus reward for US$55 (S$76), and shipping to Singapore is an additional US$10 (S$14).
You can choose between two colors, Black and Silver. I chose Black.
Tough Edition Plus reward includes one Spinner Drive Set with 20 Tough Bits (PH0, PH1, PH2, SL2.5, SL4.5, SL6.5, TR10, TR15, TR20, TR25; and SL3.5, SL5.5, PZ1, PZ2, S1, S2, H2.5, H3, H4, H5). The Spinner Drive Set consists of the Spinner Drive, Spinner Wheel, Bits Storage Cylinder, and Compact Carrying Case.
The non-plus variant has only 10 bits while the plus option has 20 bits.
Tough bits are made from Stainless Steel with Titanium Nitride coating while the standard bits are made from S2 Tool Steel with Manganese Phosphate coating.
