DYMO LabelManager 160
Previously, I used the DYMO LabelManager 280 that I got seven years ago. I bought it at an excellent price of S$27.18, which excludes the shipping cost to Singapore.
Sadly, I think there is some power issue with the device, and I can no longer switch it on. Also, the LCD screen is starting to turn black as well. It has served Li Xiang and me for a good seven years.
I decided to get back the same brand since I have spare cassettes. This time I got the DYMO LabelManager 160 from Amazon.sg for S$69.59. Shipping is included.
It comes with three D1 label cassettes.
DYMO LabelManager 160 is a model down from DYMO LabelManager 280 as it cannot connect to your computer and uses 6x AAA batteries instead of a rechargeable one.
In terms of design, DYMO LabelManager 160 feels more plasticky and less premium than the DYMO LabelManager 280.
I have not connected my DYMO LabelManager 280 to my computer, so that feature is useless. And I prefer to use AA batteries as I have plenty of Eneloop rechargeable batteries.
All the buttons on the DYMO LabelManager 160 are actual buttons, whereas, for the DYMO LabelManager 280, the action buttons at the top are covered with a sheet of plastic to make it look premium.
Despite looking more plasticky, I feel that the DYMO LabelManager 160 is more rugged than the DYMO LabelManager 280, so hopefully, it can last me more than seven years.
