OMGWTFBBQ, the Resident Evil: Extinction trailer is out! I've been looking forward to this after a disappointing Resident Evil: Apocalypse, so hopefully this one delivers. This episode should be the last of the Resident Evil movie sequels.
It's been a busy fortnight with end-of-semester assignments due, and I've been doing my CS2261 EJB work at Starbucks while Li Xiang draws. Now I know which Starbucks have power-outlet seats! I also caught Music & Lyrics at GV VivoCity.
EA Los Angeles is pleased to announce that the highly anticipated Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars for PC has officially gone gold and reaches store shelves nationwide on 28th March. Expect fast, fluid gameplay and a breakthrough single-player campaign.
I found this nice little site via HardwareZone forums: dnScoop. It bundles many domain tools into one convenient package, including a traffic tool, whois, domain history, popularity, an appraisal or site value report, a link value report and page-rank checks.
I've been swamped with school as the semester ends, with two reports and a programming assignment still to do. I just submitted my CS2250 video assignment; the lecturer was very strict, insisting it stay under five minutes.
Dear fellow Singaporeans, I need your help filling out this survey about Wireless@SG. It's for one of my NUS modules, CS1105. It only takes a few minutes, and your responses would really help with my coursework. Thanks in advance!
My Technorati ranking has jumped from 6,203 to 2,720. Thanks to everyone who's been linking to my site; it really does make a difference, and I appreciate the support that keeps this little blog climbing the rankings.
This Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars demo offers a sample of the full game's single-player content, including an interactive tutorial, two early missions from the GDI campaign, and one 1-versus-1 skirmish map against a computer-controlled Nod army.
Wishing all Chinese a Happy Chinese New Year 2007, the year of the pig, the last animal of the zodiac. I've been busy lately; my parents and brother holidayed in Shenzhen while I stayed in Singapore to mind the household.
We celebrated our third Valentine's Day together. I gave her a heart-shaped chocolate ice cream cake from Swensen's and a bouquet of six pink roses, bought from a reliable HardwareZone reseller, Flora De Petals.
For those who don't know, I run another blog dedicated to my plugin development, which also serves as a live demonstration of my WordPress plugins. Do drop by to see them in action.
I really like this quote. When the UK proposed road pricing, more than a million people signed an online petition. When it was first introduced in Singapore, more than a million people simply sucked their thumbs.
I watched Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, my first R21-rated film, running roughly two hours and 45 minutes. The front part was a little draggy, but overall it was decent, with an interesting storyline and a thoroughly bizarre ending.
This site turns five on 24th March 2007, which is also my birthday. For over four years I've run it on my allowance, with my mom occasionally paying for hosting. I'll never run ads despite my traffic.
It's human nature to blame others rather than investigate the real problem. Johor's Chief Minister has cited land reclamation by neighbouring Singapore as a cause of the recent massive flooding, in which 17 people died and 100,000 were evacuated.
As you know, Thailand's relationship with Singapore has hit an all-time low, especially over the Shin Corp affair, Thaksin's visit and Thailand's 1-2 football loss yesterday. Making matters worse, Mahathir has now added fuel to the already burning fire.
A quick snapshot of my site's standings: ranked 21,914 on Alexa, 6,203 on Technorati, with a Google PageRank of 5 for lesterchan.net and 6 for my PHP programming portfolio page. Steady numbers I'm quite pleased with for now.
These past few days, Singapore's weather has been wonderfully cool and windy, and I simply love it. I barely feel the usual heat at all, a rare and welcome respite from our typically humid, sweltering tropical climate.
I just realised I can get Microsoft Vista free from my school, and I'm downloading it now. A shame it comes on five CDs rather than one DVD. Still deciding whether to install it on my desktop or laptop.
Microsoft Windows Vista should be in retail stores today, and Microsoft has revamped its Vista homepage. I tried Vista and it lags my four-year-old Pentium 4 3.2GHz with ATI X800 graphics, so I'll only get it when I upgrade.

Alongside today's release of WordPress 2.1, I've updated the following plugins for it. Most work only on WordPress 2.1 and will break on 2.0.x; if you still need a 2.0.x version for any reason, the download link is included below.
