Olloclip 4-in-1 Photo Lens For iPhone 6/6 Plus
I bought the Olloclip 4-in-1 Photo Lens for iPhone 6/6 Plus from Hong Kong Apple Store at Festive Walk for HK$678 (S$117). If you are located in Singapore, Apple Online Store Singapore is selling it for S$119.
Olloclip 4-in-1 lens is a lightweight (35g) clip-on photo lens for your iPhone 6/6 Plus camera. It comes with two lens and each lens has two uses. The fisheye lens will give you a 15x macro lens as well and the wide-angle lens will give you a 10x macro lens. In total you will have four lens: Fisheye, Wide-Angle, 10x Macro and 15x Macro.
From Olloclip’s website, there are five colors available (Silver Lens/Black Clip, Gold Lens/White Clip, Red Lens/Black Clip, Space Grey Lens/Black Clip and Silver Lens/White Clip), however only the Silver Lens/Black Clip is available in the Apple Stores.
The default packaging comes with three wearable pendants (black, green and blue), the Olloclip 4-in-1 photo lens, two lens caps, microfibre bag, lanyard, two inserts (one for iPhone 6 and one for iPhone 6 Plus).
Personally, I find the three wearable pendants very redundant because it is a hassle to clip and remove the Olloclip from the wearable pendant. Most of the time, I will just use the Olloclip as it is and place it in the included microfibre bag with the lens caps on.
In case you are wondering, you cannot use the Olloclip on your iPhone if your iPhone has a casing on. Your iPhone has to be naked or you have to remove the casing before using the Olloclip.
Having screen protector on is fine, but after using it for just a few times, you will find the top part of the screen protector being scratched by the Olloclip if your screen protector is made of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) film. If you are using a glass screen protector, you will not have this problem. Regardless of which screen protector you are using, please take note not to accidentally peel your screen protector off when clipping on the Olloclip.
Besides all the above problems, the Olloclip is a fun accessory to have. The good quality of the lens makes up the expensive price of the Olloclip. It is like buying a DSLR, the lens are always the most expensive add-ons.
If you are using iPhone 6, both lens will fit nicely at your front and rear camera. However, if you are using iPhone 6 Plus, you have to remove the iPhone 6 insert (adapter) from the Olloclip first before inserting in the iPhone 6 Plus insert (adapter). Because the iPhone 6 Plus is much bigger, you can only use the photo lens one at the time, it is either the rear or the front. Check out the photos below to get a clearer picture of how it works.
