I bought the Nubee Temperature Gun from Amazon for US$13.59 (S$20) together with the Bosch GLM 35 Laser Measure. It also doesn’t ship to Singapore directly, so you have to go through a freight forwarder like HopShopGo.

The Nubee temperature gun is a non-contact digital laser infrared thermometer that lets you obtain a temperature reading of a surface such as stoves, ovens, food and fish tanks.

Here are some examples provided by Nubee:

Water temperature in the bath; Checking heater or oven temperature, for calibration and control purposes; Hot engine parts; Cooking Surfaces; Hot tubes & Insulation; Electrical Connection; Ballasts in Electrics lights; Electric Motors & Bearings; Wine coolers & Hot asphalt; Fuse Panels & Transformers; Swimming pools & Fish tanks; Hot & Cold food products; Heating & Air conditioning.

The temperature gun has a range of -50°C (-58°F) to 380°C (716°F) and an accuracy of ±2°C. It is powered by a 9V battery and has a backlight display.

Because it has an accuracy of ±2°C, please do not use it on people’s forehead to measure their body temperature because the accuracy range is too big.

To be honest, I am not sure what I am going to do with this. I bought it just to play with it since it is not that expensive. But I am guessing this gadget will be more applicable in the kitchen to measure the temperature of the oven or food.
