Challenge #2 of Nokia's Teach a Technophobe arrived on Friday: teach my mom to snap a photo with the E75's 3.2MP camera and email it to me. This one was more about feature discovery, since she picked it up quickly.
Teach a Technophobe – Challenge #1
My first Teach a Technophobe challenge arrived on Friday. I chose my mom, Jas Ngan, a businesswoman who often needs email on the go. I'm using the excellent free Symbian app Best Screen Snap to capture screenshots on the E75.

WOM World has shipped me two Nokia E75 sets from the UK for a project called Teach a Technophobe. My task is to coach a user, my mom, on using the E75 for email, across several challenges.
Nokia N97 Released
I was invited to the Nokia N97 launch in Kuala Lumpur, but my internship meant I couldn't take leave. Hopefully there's a next time, perhaps for the N98 or N99 when it reaches our local telcos.

Attended the Nokia N97 blogger preview at Nokia's office in Alexandra Technopark. The N97 will be Nokia's next flagship, and it felt solid in hand. It comes in black and pearl white, with plenty of interesting applications on board.

Nokia today launched the XpressMusic 5800 and the Comes With Music service at Velvet Underground. Comes With Music is now live, with Singapore the first country in Asia to get it.
Showcase Nokia 2009
I was invited to Showcase Nokia 2009 at ZIRCA, Clarke Quay, where Nokia launched the E55, E75, N86 8MP, 6710 Navigator and 6720 Classic. The E75 is essentially an E51 clone with an added slide-out full QWERTY keypad.
Comes With Music Singapore Launch
Nokia has announced its Comes With Music range for Singapore. The revolutionary digital music offer will be available on the Nokia 5800, 5320 and 5220 XpressMusic devices, as well as the N96, N85 and N79 multimedia computers.

I was invited to a one-hour Nokia Comes With Music session at Nokia's Singapore office. The service arrives here soon, and the much-anticipated Nokia 5800 XpressMusic lands before month's end. Comes With Music bundles unlimited track downloads with the phone.
Nokia N97 Announced
Nokia has announced the N79 today, arriving in the first quarter of next year. It will be the first Nseries touch device and Nokia's second touchscreen overall, after the XpressMusic 5800, running S60 5th Edition on WCDMA with HSDPA.

This is the second part of the Nokia Remix 2008 event, a party from 7pm at the Red Dot Design Museum, where I went with Li Xiang. A blogger meet at Pacific Coffee let us try the XpressMusic 5800.

Nokia XpressMusic 5800 “Tube” (Exclusive)
It's now 1am Singapore time and my NDA has ended, so I can finally talk about the Nokia XpressMusic 5800, aka The Tube. Thanks to Text 100, and Supriya, I attended the Nokia Remix 2008 pre-media briefing at Marina Mandarin.

I had an informal gathering with Nokia, Text 100 and several bloggers at The Straits, 31 Pekin Street, Far East Square. At first I confused it with The Straits Kitchen at Hyatt Hotel; luckily the full address was given.
Nokia N79, N85, N96 Announced Officially
Nokia held a media event at House @ 8D Dempsey Road at 2pm to officially launch the N79, N85 and N96. Sadly I had my first tutorial then. The N79 succeeds the N78 and the N85 succeeds the N81.
$300 Takashimaya And Nokia N78
Before heading to KL, I learned by email and SMS that I'd won a Text 100 contest from Nokia Connection 2008. I assumed it was an E71 or E66, but it's a Nokia N78 plus $300 Takashimaya vouchers.

Nokia Connection 2008
I was invited to Nokia Connection 2008, the annual event, this year on 16th and 17th June. The first day was at the Singapore Recreation Club, the second at Mandarin Oriental, with plenty of new Nokia announcements.
Samsung 2043BWX + Nokia @ Molly Malone
My dad's 10am Singapore Airlines flight to Vietnam departs today; he'll be there six months, returning around 17th December 2008, though he may pop back briefly after three. We reached the airport at 8am to see him off.
