IWED assignment 2 deadline today, untouched since yesterday, but handed in well before 5pm. The lecturer interviews our group on Tuesday at 11am. Left school 3.30pm, mostly working on my DSAL assignment, which is progressing nicely.
You can now read my blog on a WAP-enabled phone, thanks to a hack by plazz2000. The first WAP page lists each blog's date and title; tap a link and it brings up almost the full entry.
Nothing unusual at school except a few IWED assignment 2 bugs, fixed them, ready to hand in tomorrow. Left at 5.30pm for dinner at Suntec City, the laksa at Congress Kopitiam; I couldn't resist, it's delicious.
I hate when lecturers extend deadlines; it clashes with other extended ones. Thought I'd enjoy my weekend, but no: CANI assignment 2 is pushed to Monday, 14 October. Now I need sound effects, which aren't easy.
Had my entrepreneurship test today, easy, a 50-minute paper I finished in 20. To NP to return Paranoia's friend's disc, before back to school till 7.30pm. Hard to believe the computer lab was full, everyone rushing.
Turns out my WWWP deadline is next Thursday, not this one, as the lecturer mentioned during today's lecture. So two assignments due this week: WWWP and DSAL, the latter's unofficial deadline next Friday. Got 75 earlier.
Woke at 2.30pm, a long sleep. Lunch at Maxwell Market: fried sliced fish soup with rice, the best I've had, the stall once featured on Yummy King. Finished DEUI assignment 2's report: six pages of text.
Woke at 1.30pm after a long, good sleep. Went to school to bring Lian to my place, stopping at Tiong Bahru Plaza foodcourt for lunch: Korean spicy chicken noodles, spicy but not enough. She came for DEUI.
School ended at 1pm. Lunch at ABC market with Lian, bumping into a primary school mate at the bus stop. Then Funan to check on UT2003; still not out, and the salesperson had no idea when.
My WWWP lecturer is brilliant; he cracked the total-price logic I'd wrestled with for an hour. My WWWP assignment's 99% done, so I set aside and focus on IWED, CANI and DSAL. Did DSAL during practical.
Today's my parents' 20th wedding anniversary, married in 1982, with me arriving in 1984. Went to school at 12pm but skipped lessons, staying in lab until it closed at 5.30pm. Suntec's Marche with Lian and family.
Happy Children's Day, for kids under twelve. I'm well past that now. Went to Suntec for laksa and roti prata; the laksa there is genuinely lovely, well worth the trip if I'm no longer a child.
The staff committee came to video our lecturer teaching today; you could see how nervous he was. Mom had a meeting and didn't cook, so dinner with Lian at Suntec's Burger King, long since my last.
B2 is out of beta; v0.6 is the last release before v1.0, and as always I keep the site current, so it's now on v0.6. Little changed from v0.6pre5 beyond minor bug fixes and backend work.
Dim sum at Lei Garden that afternoon, my grandfather's treat for his and grandmother's wedding anniversary. To Waterloo Street temple to pray, with exams looming; my first paper's on 22 October. Stress. Dinner at Kenny Rogers.
Had the famous minced pork noodles at another branch in Best Way building; the owners are brothers. Then to school to meet Lian, Stacy, Jean and Zhi Wei, off to Sim Lim Square for computer bits.
Finally started my DSAL assignment, first screen layout done. Stayed back at school on the entrepreneurship report till 5.15pm. Coffee Bean at Funan since Lian was thirsty, and dinner at Swensen's in Changi Airport Terminal 2.
Pasta dinner at Pasta Mania in Funan, which just opened a branch; otherwise I always go to Picnic Food Court at Scotts Shopping Centre. Fort Canning Park, freshly renovated, with many flights of steps to top.
Voted for my electives at 4.30pm: IGRA, VBAS and PCT, submitted at 4.31.13pm. No real guarantee you get your picks, though; it's decided on three criteria, the first being academic performance, so fingers crossed for mine.
During IWED practical, I continued assignment 2 and fixed the INSERT bug, thanks to the lecturer; turns out 'date' is a reserved word in ASP. In CANI, the lecturer taught us the 3DS Max particle system.
An 'exciting' Monday, a last-minute notice that next semester's IGRA elective will teach Java, not C++. The quote: 'the implementation language for IGRA is Java, not C++'. Sucks; how can Java replace C++ in games development?
