SingTel will launch the new iPhone 3GS on Friday, 10th July 2009, and I'm hoping it won't be during office hours. They've emailed to say I have a date with my new iPhone 3GS that day.

Looks like SingTel's iPhone 3GS launch is getting nearer; I got this in my mailbox yesterday. It thanks me for my interest and assures me that, having registered, I'll be among the first to receive pricing and launch event details.
Site Traffic June 2009
My June 2009 site traffic stats: 12,353,277 hits, 928,925 pages and 238,957 visits from 174,547 unique sites, with about 47.9 million KBytes transferred over the month. Another consistently strong showing as the site keeps drawing steady traffic.
Firefox 3.5 Released
Firefox 3.5 is here, built on the Gecko 1.9.1 platform after a year of development. It brings plenty of changes over the previous version, supporting new web technologies while improving both performance and ease of use across the board.
PHP 5.3.0 Released
The PHP development team has released PHP 5.3.0, a major improvement in the 5.x series with a large number of new features and bug fixes, including namespace support. A welcome update for anyone building modern applications in PHP.

Ozh and I have released YOURLS, Your Own URL Shortener. I run it on lc.sg and Ozh on ozh.in. YOURLS is a small set of PHP scripts that let you host your own TinyURL-style shortening service, private or public.

I grew up on Michael Jackson's songs, so it's sad he's passed away at just 50, still young. Despite his recent scandals, my perception of him hasn't changed. Rest in peace, Michael; you'll always be remembered.

Lester Chan’s WordPress Plugins June 2009 Update
Here's my June 2009 update for all 16 of my WordPress plugins. They should work on WordPress 2.8, though I haven't tested older versions. The plugins now use jQuery for AJAX instead of TW-Sack.
Video Games Live Singapore
Video Games Live Singapore takes place this Friday, 19th June 2009, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium at 8.30pm, with a pre-show from 6.30pm. The two-hour concert has tickets priced at S$55, S$70, S$85 and S$115.

I was invited to the SingTel AMPed event at Mandarin Oriental. AMPed is a music service much like Nokia Comes With Music, but not tied to any phone, working on Nokia, Samsung or Sony Ericsson.
PC Show 2009 Hoot
Rare for me, I skipped the PC Show 2009 opening and only went at 7pm because of work. Compared with IT Show 2009, I didn't really enjoy it; the aisles between booths felt much narrower.
WordPress 2.8 Released
WordPress 2.8 has been released! As Matt announced, version 2.8 'Baker' is now available to download. It's a nice fit-and-finish release, with improvements to themes and plenty of under-the-hood polish that make it well worth upgrading to.
Apple iPhone 3GS
Apple has announced the iPhone 3GS, where the S stands for speed. It looks identical to the iPhone 3G but adds improved performance, a slightly better battery, faster 7.2Mbps HSDPA up from 3.6Mbps, and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR.

I was invited to the Nokia N97 launch in Kuala Lumpur, but my internship meant I couldn't take leave. Hopefully there's a next time, perhaps for the N98 or N99 when it reaches our local telcos.

My 2008/2009 Semester 2 results: C+ in Probability and Statistics, A+ in Control, Audit and Security of IS, A in IT and Supply Chain Management. My CAP rose to 3.73, my first ever A+ and A!
First Case Of H1N1 In Singapore
Singapore has confirmed its first case of Influenza A (H1N1). The patient, a 22-year-old Singaporean woman who was in New York from 14th to 24th May, is in stable condition at the Communicable Disease Centre at Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
Singapore Food Expo 2009
The Singapore Food Expo 2009 runs at Singapore Expo Hall 5 from 29th May to 2nd June, 11am to 10pm daily. My mom has taken part since 2003; she has three booths, selling miscellaneous food products and Glico goods.
