Bebird X17 Pro
After posting about Bebird M9 Pro, Black Bees Innovation, the Hong Kong company behind Bebird, contacted me about the new Bebird X17 Pro.
Bebird X17 Pro retails for US$69.99 (S$95) on Bebird’s website and is currently available in Black. The other two colors, white, and blue are out of stock. If you want to get it from Lazada, you might need to wait a little while longer, as this is a new product.
Similar to M9 Pro, the “gift” is actually included in the packaging contents just that it is not in the main box.
One of the phobias I have while using the M9 Pro is that the ear spoon will come off while digging your ear and get stuck in the ear canal. It came off before, but luckily it didn’t get stuck in my ears.
X17 Pro solves this issue by adding a buckle. You now attach the ear spoon first, and after that, insert the buckle and screw to tighten it. The ear spoon is now secured in place. When using the ear spoon, it feels more firm (less flimsy) because of the buckle.
The charging stand now supports USB-C and is less circle-ish in terms of design.
One of my pet peeves is the non-removable charging cable on the M9 Pro charging base. With the X17 Pro, that has been solved.
The number of included ear cleaning accessories remains the same.
There are now flat sides on the X17 Pro, which provides a slightly better grip as your finger can press against the flat sides.
However, I find that the X17 Pro’s cover’s magnetic strength is weaker than the M9 Pro, so when it snaps back to the X17 Pro’s base, it doesn’t have the “clang” sound.
In terms of weight, the X17 Pro is slightly heavier, 37g vs. 30g on the M9 Pro. The charging base weighs the same at 115g.
The LED lights of the X17 Pro is colder (hence whiter) and looks brighter than the M9 Pro despite both of them having 6 LEDs.
The camera received an upgrade and is now 5 MP instead of 3 MP. Gyroscope also increased from 4-axis to 6-axis.
It is just slightly clearer if you compared it side by side with the M9 Pro.
Another comparison of camera image quality.
Overall, the X17 Pro is an incremental upgrade over the M9 Pro. If you are new to Smart Visual Ear Cleaning Rod, I would recommend getting the X17 Pro straightaway. If you already an existing M9 Pro user, I think you can stick to it a little longer till the next leap.
