lol, seems if you want to take a break from technology, just camp in your parent’s room!

For my family of 4, each of us have a lappy each, then theres 3 active desktops all round the house as well for emergencies or backup. So that makes 7 PCs in total, excluding NAS and print servers. Looking around my room now, I think I have enough PC parts lying around to assemble up 2 desktop PCs too if may. Crap I need to clean up my place…

@netster lol but I do not on some of them very often. My electricity bill alone for 1 month is normally about SGD$250
@geargina I love LCD monitors/televisions =p
@Shaun You should assemble it and not let the parts go wasted. I am thinking of getting NAS as well. lol

Mm those r like old P4 systems man, one of them was my old system b4 I upgraded to quad. I left them out as I wont see myself using them even if I were to put them together, maybe selling them for parts might help!

Currently I am looking for a good HD multimedia player, so I can share my movie collection in the living room with my family. Any to recommend? best with a NAS too so anyone can simply drop movies and music into the living room server.

I think you can use Ubuntu to run them as Ubuntu uses lesser resources. Can act like a home server.

I used my xbox360 to stream movie from my computer.

That is an impressive number of electrics there! I live by myself so my pad is a proper batchelors house! Loads of toys but I can’t compare to what you have :-)

I remember getting a power cut a few months ago, the entire street was spookily quiet; to entertain myself I used a candle and a book :-) I didn’t miss my electrical friends at all.
