Belkin Economy Series 4-Socket Surge Protector
My computer is not switched on 24/7. Last Saturday, when I turn on my new computer, it causes my Main Circuit Breaker (MCB) to trip. This is the first time I encountered a trip in MCB. Typically, it is the Circuit Breaker inside my house that will be tripped.
Sadly, after that happened, I can no longer switch on my computer. I suspect my Power Supply Unit (PSU) is fried.
I am using the Corsair SF Series SF750 which comes with 7-year warranty under Convergent. Sadly (again), Convergent doesn’t have any stock left for Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). They have placed an order in January 2020, but due to COVID-19, they have not gotten any stocks for the Corsair SF750.
Lucky, Abdul from Dynacore allowed me to bring down for them to check. I kind of make things difficult for him as I threw away the original boxes after a week (I thought the 1-1 exchange is only valid for a week). He actually told me to keep the boxes for a month.
Despite that, he still proceeded on with the 1-1 PSU swap for me. After the swap, my computer managed to boot up. I hope no other parts are affected. I would like to give a big shoutout to Abdul of Dynacore for the excellent service.
After this incident, I immediately went to buy a Belkin Economy Series 4-Socket Surge Protector to replace my cheaper SoundTeoh 3-Socket extension.
The recommended retail price of Belkin Economy Series 4-Socket Surge Protector is S$39. During Lazada‘s Online Tech Show from 12th to 16th March 2020, the price drops to S$33.15.
Belkin Economy Series comes in either 6-socket or 4-socket. Both come with a 3m heavy-duty cable.
I prefer the Belkin Economy Series Surge Protector rather than the Belkin Home Series Surge Protector as it has a smaller footprint. Because it is less bulky, it also fits more comfortably in my Bluelounge CableBox.
