Mova P50 Ultra Review
I had not heard of the Mova brand before. That is, till Dasher contacted me to see if I was interested in reviewing their products. It is the same scenario as with their Dreame brand 3 years ago, when I reviewed the DreameBot L10s Ultra.
There are two variants to Mova P50. Mova P50 Ultra and Mova P50 Pro Ultra. The price difference between them is S$300.
Mova P50 Ultra retails for S$699 while Mova P50 Pro Ultra retails for S$999. Of course, you can get discounts on Shopee or Lazada during various sales days.
For an extra S$300, you will get:
- Liftable Roller Brush
- Anti-Tangle Main Brush
- Auto-Mop Removal
- Auto Detergent Compartment
- LED Light
- Video Supervision With Two-Way Voice Control
Whether it is worth it depends on the individual. To me, only the LED Light and Video Supervision with Two-Way Voice Control is of little practical use.
Dasher sent me the Mova P50 Ultra. Here are some features of the Mova P50 Ultra:
- 19,000 Pa Suction Power
- Dual Rotary Mops With Mop Extension (MopExtend)
- Side Brush Extension (SideReach)
- 22 mm Obstacle Crossing Height
- 10 mm Side Brush Lifting Height
- 10.5 mm Mop Lifting Height
- 75°C Hot Water Mop And Washboard Self-Cleaning

Unboxing
After unboxing, you will get the following:
- Mova P50 Ultra
- Mova P50 Ultra Docking Station
- UK Power Cable
- 2x Mop Pad Holder with Mop Pad
- Instructions Booklets

Several accessories are pre-installed in the Mova P50 Ultra and the docking station. Accessories include the Side Brush, Main Brush, Dust Bag, Dust Box, Filter, Roller, and clean and used water tanks.

After connecting the power cable, you need to fix the ramp extension plate.

Followed by attaching the mop to the mop holder and the mop holder to the robot.

Design
The overall design of the docking station is broad and short. It measures 420 x 458 x 470 mm.

Cable management is available for your power cable at the back of the docking station.

Water tanks are located at the top. A 3.5L used water tank and a 4L clean water tank. The water tank inside Mova P50 Ultra can hold 80 ml.

Unlike the DreameBot L10s Ultra, where the auto-detergent compartment is together with the water tanks, the Mova P50 Ultra’s auto-detergent compartment is in the dust bag compartment.

The 3.2L dust bag is located in the middle, and on the left of the dust bag compartment is where the auto-detergent compartment fits.
Mova P50 Ultra doesn’t come with the auto-detergent compartment. Only the Mova P50 Pro Ultra comes with it. However, Mova P50 Ultra does support auto-detergent. So, you just have to buy the auto-detergent container separately.

The top protruding part is the Laser Distance Sensor (LDS).

In front of the Mova P50 Ultra is the 3D Line Laser Sensor

Behind the Mova P50 Ultra are the charging contacts, connectors, and automatic water refilling inlets.

Turning the Mova P50 Ultra over, you will find the cliff sensors at the top and omnidirectional wheels below it. To the left of the omnidirectional wheels is the carpet sensor. You can also see the main brush, the side brush, and the dual rotary mop.

There are cliff sensors near the wheels as well.

The main brush of the Mova P50 Ultra is the regular one. If you bought the Mova P50 Pro Ultra, the main brush will be the anti-tangle.

Setup
Mova Home app is available on both iOS and Android.
The setup process is straightforward. Scan the QR code underneath the Mova P50 Ultra cover.

Then follow the in-app instructions.

It uses the wifi network that your phone is connected to. You cannot pick from a list of available wifi networks. So, remember to connect your 2.4GHz wifi network before starting the setup, especially if you have separate wifi networks for WiFi 7.

After about three minutes, your setup should be completed.

Next, some tutorial screens will explain some of the features of the Mova P50 Ultra, like the MopExtend and SideReach.

You can also see them in the settings screen.

Using The App
After the setup is done, the robot needs to do a fast mapping of your house. The process takes about 5 minutes, depending on your home size.

I am surprised that the app managed to draw the room boundaries accurately and guess with relatively high accuracy what the rooms are for. When using Roborock and Dreame, I have to manually draw the boundaries as they are inaccurate, and name each room as it doesn’t guess the room names for me.

The map editor has the usual standard tools, except for Virtual Threshold/Ramp and Curtain, which I see for the first time.
Threshold/Ramp allows you to mark areas in your home where there is a ramp, and the robot will only climb up the ramp and not clean it.
Curtain allows you to mark areas in your home where there is a curtain, and the robot will try to clean areas under and behind the curtain.

There are two cleaning options you can choose from: Custom and CleanGenius. These options are standard. CleanGenius is just a marketing name for intelligent cleaning.

What is new for me is the ability to vacuum first, then mop, or what the app calls “Mop after Vac”. I am unsure if this is new, but this option is missing on my Dreame and Roborock robot vacuum cleaners. If I had the choice, I would have preferred to vacuum first and then mop instead of doing both together. So this option is perfect for me.

19,000 Pa Suction Power
19,000 Pa suction power is a lot, considering my DreameBot L10s Ultra only has 5,300 Pa.
If you have carpets at home, the heavy suction power is helpful if stubborn debris is stuck on them.
As my home is on a hard floor with no carpets and the debris on the floor is either hair, dust, or food crumbs, the difference in suction power is not noticeable to me.
MopExtend And SideReach
One of the main selling points of the Mova P50 Ultra is the extension of the mop (MopExtend) and side brush (SideReach). This allows you to have more thorough vacuuming and mopping in corners and along the edges.

MopExtend can get as far and deep as 4cm underneath your furniture.

This is my favourite feature of the Mova P50 Ultra, and I consider it semi-life-changing as I don’t need to clean the edges and corners manually.
Since my DreameBot L10s Ultra doesn’t clean corners or edges, I occasionally clean those manually.
Side Brush Lifting
Mova P50 Ultra comes with side brush lifting, allowing the brush to be lifted 10mm above the floor to avoid spreading the wet mess.
However, for the Mova P50 Ultra, the main brush remains fixed, so the main brush might still be able to spread the wet mess.
If you encounter this situation often, consider getting the Mova P50 Pro Ultra instead, as both the main and side brushes can be lifted.
I don’t have a use case for this feature, as if I spill something on the floor, the cleaning up will definitely be manual.
Auto Dock Maintenance
Besides the usual auto dock maintenance like auto-emptying, auto-drying of mop pads, Mova P50 Ultra comes with hot water (up to 75°C) washing of the mop pads.

ChatGPT says hot water helps kill most bacteria, viruses, and dust mites. Besides killing bacteria, it also breaks down oils, grease, and sticky residues trapped in the mop pad.

The dock uses the Mova P50 Ultra’s mop pad to auto-clean the washboard base.

There are 20 spray nozzles on the washboard (10 on each side of the mop).

Conclusion
Overall, I am quite impressed with the Mova P50 Ultra. The standout features for me are the MopExtend and SideReach, which really help with cleaning edges and corners. The 19,000 Pa suction power sounds impressive on paper, though I don’t notice much difference on hard floors. Setup was straightforward, and the app experience exceeded my expectations, especially the room detection and the “Mop after Vac” option. The hot water mop cleaning is a nice touch and adds to the overall convenience.
Priced at S$699, the Mova P50 Ultra offers excellent value for money given its feature set. A quick comparison with similarly equipped models like the Dreame L40 Ultra, X40 Pro Ultra, and Roborock Qrevo 798 and 5AE will lead you to the same conclusion.
