It's been a busy few weeks, and I want to enjoy the last of my holiday before school officially starts on 16th August 2007. Right now I'm attending the CS3214 Workshop, which runs every day from 1st August onwards.
Samsung YP-K3 Review
My first review here, so please be gentle with my skills; it's a home-made, unprofessional effort. In summary, the Samsung YP-K3's sound equaliser is a great feature, its sound quality clearly beats the iPod, and the interface impresses too.
Next Nokia announcement On 29th August 2007
Lots of rumours have circulated lately, especially about Nokia's Nseries. Nokia has announced many phones this year but no Nseries yet. This announcement should include the N95 8GB, N81, N82 and perhaps a surprise on 29th August. I can't wait.
Cisco Kills Linksys Brand
In a roundtable with the European press, John Chambers confirmed the end of life for the Linksys name, to be replaced by the new, redesigned Cisco branding. This follows Cisco's April move to let Linksys resellers add Cisco products.

I went to the Singapore Indoor Stadium for The Year of Jacky Cheung World Tour 07. I arrived about two hours before the 8pm start and found plenty of parking, monitoring the carpark to gauge how it filled up.

I had dinner at Pasta de Waraku again, but this time I'm blogging with more information and photos. Pasta de Waraku is a Japanese casual pasta and cafe restaurant at The Central, where every pasta comes with a mini salad.
Samsung 24″ Widescreen Monitor (245BW)
I think I've found the monitor I'll get next year! The Samsung 245BW is a 24-inch widescreen with 1920x1200 resolution, 5ms response time, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 3000:1 dynamic contrast and 400 cd/m2 of brightness. Images courtesy of Engadget.
Sony’s PSP 1.5
Sony has announced a lighter version of the PSP at E3. It's not quite a PSP 2, more a PSP 1.5, keeping the 4.3-inch LCD and UMD but 33% lighter and 19% slimmer, with improved load times.
Die Hard 4.0
I caught Die Hard 4.0 on Saturday, a 150-minute film. It was slightly above average, as expected an action-packed affair with action almost throughout. Maggie Q only lasts halfway through, perhaps because she's Asian and this is a Hollywood film.

Transformers
I'm not really a Transformers cartoon fan; I didn't watch much of it. But I love the movie, the best I've seen since Lord of the Rings. The CGI was fantastic, the storyline good, and the action almost constant.
Remix 07
Remix 07 is a Microsoft event for web developers, designers and businesses, held at The Arts House. It was a one-day event yesterday, Friday 29th June 2007, which I attended thanks to an invite from Nic Fillingham of Microsoft.
Width Of The Site
I've changed this site's width from 600px to 800px. Back in 2003 when I designed the layout, 800x600 was still a common resolution, so I chose 600px wide to suit it. Four years on, wider makes sense.
Thai Glico Dinner
We had the annual Thai Glico dinner at Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant in Marriott Hotel. The boss clearly loves Wan Hao; this is our fourth or fifth time there, a $1,000-a-table affair, always booking two tables, with free-flow drinks.
iPhone
All the hype around the iPhone will soon end when it officially launches in the US on Friday, 29th June 2007. My brother is very keen. Here's why I think it'll disappoint, starting with its stripped-down mobile OS X.
Surf’s Up
I caught Surf's Up at GV Marina on a whim today. The film was rather boring, but the CGI is good, especially the water effects and animation; respect to all the CG artists. My Downloads page now runs WP-DownloadManager.
