I bought the Apple World Travel Adapter Kit before my London flight, at iStudio in Changi Airport Terminal 3, for S$54.21. With a valid boarding pass I skipped the 7% GST, against S$58. The kit works with iPods and iPhones.
Fabrix launched the Fifth October iPhone case as a tribute to Steve Jobs, who passed away on 5th October 2011. It costs US$10, plus US$3 registered mail within Singapore. I ordered on 18th October and received it on the 24th.
SingTel has launched Singapore's first e-book service, skoob, offering works by Singaporean writers, study guides, and school textbooks for local students. At launch it holds 39,000 local and international bestsellers for smartphones, tablets, and PCs, with payment in Singapore Dollars.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is now available in Singapore at a recommended S$768 for the 3G 16GB model. It runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb on a 1GHz dual-core processor, with an 8.9-inch WXGA 1280x800 display and a 3-megapixel rear camera.
I bought the Case-Mate Waddler Penguin Case (Black) for iPhone 4/4S from Amazon as Li Xiang's birthday present. She loves penguins, and this was the only penguin iPhone case I could find. It cost US$24.99 plus US$7 shipping to Singapore.
This year, Li Xiang's birthday celebration was a simple one. We had an early dinner at Jones The Grocer in Mandarin Gallery, did some shopping around Orchard, then finished with an early supper at Ramen Santouka in Cuppage Terrace.

The Motorola RAZR goes on sale in Singapore from tomorrow, 11th November 2011, at a recommended S$888 without contract, and at all three local telcos, SingTel, StarHub, and M1. I tried it at last week's media event.
The Samsung Galaxy Note arrives in Singapore tentatively on 18th November 2011 at a recommended S$998, including taxes and without any telco subsidy. The Galaxy Nexus follows by January 2012 at S$948, also including taxes and unsubsidised.
Firefox 8.0 has been released, just a month and a half after Firefox 7.0 on 28th September 2011. New in this version: add-ons installed by third-party programs are now disabled by default, and a one-time selection dialog manages them.
Google has launched Google+ Pages, its take on Facebook Pages, which you can create at plus.google.com/pages/create. I do wish Google+ offered nicer URLs, as Facebook does for pages and profiles, since nobody will remember the long numeric ID.
On my last day before flying home, I woke at the same time and checked out at 9am. Thanks to the team at 1000heads, who minded our luggage at their office while we went sightseeing. First stop was London Eye.
Nokia World Day 2 also began at 9am, with the opening keynote by Colin Giles, head of Sales. As the second and final day, with nothing new to announce, the crowd was thinner, so this post has more pictures.
I woke at 7.30am and met the other bloggers for breakfast at 8am in the hotel lobby, before heading to ExCeL London for Stephen Elop's opening keynote. The venue was about a five-minute walk away. We arrived just in time.
