Apple Pencil (2nd Generation)
Apple Pencil (2nd Generation) is retailing for S$189 in Singapore. If you bought it at the airport, you will be paying S$176.64 as it is tax-free.
In Singapore, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) is 7%, so to calculate the amount you will be paying, just take: (1 / 1.07) * $amount
.
For example for the Apple Pencil (2nd Generation), it is: (1 / 1.07) * $189 = $176.64
The Apple Pencil (2nd Generation) is S$51 more expensive than the Apple Pencil (1st Generation) which retails at S$138. If you compare launch prices, that will be S$61 as the Apple Pencil (1st Generation) was launched in Singapore for S$148 in November 2015.
There are no moving parts in the second generation Apple Pencil. That makes it feels more solid than the first generation. Hence, the tips are not replaceable, and wireless charging is added.
Some new features of the second generation Apple Pencil:
- Automatic pairing, wireless charging
- Magnetic storage
- Double-tap to switch tools
- Tap to wake
- Non-replacable tip
My 3rd generation Apple iPad Pro 12.9″ (Space Grey 256GB) (Wi-Fi + Cellular) will only arrive between 20th and 23rd November 2018. Once I have it in my hands, I will update with more pictures!
