Happy Birthday Dad!
My dad turned 48 today, happy birthday Dad! We had dinner at Hua Ting, getting four glasses of red wine and a birthday cake free. The food was good, the price reasonable and the service not bad.

I spent a few hours yesterday upgrading this site to WordPress 1.2, adapting all my hacks. It was fairly easy, as the API didn't change much. I love the new plugin architecture, just drop it in and activate.
Hi everyone, I'm back from my chalet and have watched The Day After Tomorrow. The chalet photos were up within an hour of getting home around 1pm, in my Polytechnic Gallery. They come in two flavours, my camera and Fiona's.
I went to ITE Balestier for the WSC briefing, a short, quick one from 9.30 to 11am. They even provided breakfast, quite a spread, thumbs up. I came home wanting a nap but ended up gaming with friends instead.
I watched the France versus Brazil friendly at 3am yesterday, a good match between two equally strong teams that ended 0-0. I was hoping Brazil would win, and Ronaldinho was excellent, practically running the game on his own.
Yesterday I went to Sentosa's Siloso Beach with Xiu Hui and company. The beach was fairly empty. Ron, Wei Jian and I concluded most of the pretty ones wear pink. We had dinner at Pasta Mania.
I got these two emails from friends and thought I'd share them. The first, Simple Friends vs Real Friends: a simple friend has never seen you cry, while a real friend has shoulders soggy from your tears.
I'm getting lazier at blogging, once daily, then every two days, now every three. On Sunday I had lunch at Lei Garden in Orchard Plaza, ticking another item off my food-to-eat-before-NS list, then headed to the Converse store at Heeren.
I've been busy and lazy lately, so here's a recap of the past three days. On Thursday, Jackey, Terry, Li Xiang, Laily and Suqin left for their Malaysia backpacking trip and called that night from Malacca.
We meant to go Zouk yesterday but a private NUS Bash was on, so we headed to Cheeky Monkey at Mohamed Sultan instead. Charlene, Jean and others got there first, with more joining later. The hip-hop wasn't my thing.
A busy stretch, though I should stay home more. On Monday I was home all afternoon, then went jogging with Calvin and YongTang. Three weeks since my last jog, I managed only five rounds at 12 minutes before stopping.
An extremely long post. On Friday I went to school for a job-hunting talk; it was okay, though much of it overlapped my Technical Business and Communication module. I dropped by Food Court 6 but didn't eat, still full.
The weather is lovely today; rain is always the best time for laksa or steamboat. So I went with my mom for Depot Road laksa. It's also our internship's last day, though I've school tomorrow for a job-hunting talk.
Linkin Park are coming to Singapore on Tuesday, 22nd June 2004, at the Padang. I'm 101% going to miss it, since I'll be in camp. It's a standing show with at least 20,000 tickets available.
First, to stop your computer restarting automatically, go to Run and type shutdown -a. Then download the patch from Microsoft, for Windows XP or Windows 2000/2003, install it, and download the removal tool to clear the Sasser worm.
I saw this funny article on the last page of 8 Days issue 709 and liked it enough to share. It's a Company Memo welcoming staff back after Labour Day and advising of new rules now in force.
I saw The Punisher last night, quite a good movie with a decent storyline and action, definitely better than Daredevil; a must-watch for Marvel fans. It opens in Singapore around the second week of June.
Yesterday I shopped with Jackey and Li Xiang, from Wheelock all the way to Plaza Singapura. I bought a Nike cap for $23 for army use. We had dinner at Ajisen Ramen in Plaza Singapura.
A few of my friends are already infected by this very widespread virus, even though the patch was released weeks ago. If you got infected, you deserved it; be a responsible user and keep your Windows up to date.
We had our ninth weekly dinner at Novena Square. We'd gone for the Malaysia Tour Fair and, unsure what to eat, settled on Magic Wok on the top level when we spotted it. The food was average but quite cheap.
Remember I asked what would happen next in Singapore? One dead, five missing, fifteen injured in an Ayer Rajah building cave-in. Singapore has been very eventful lately. A grim reminder of how quickly things can go wrong here.
On Tuesday I met the backpacking crew, Jackey, Laily, Li Xiang, Terry and Suqin, at Queensway Shopping Centre to collect the bags they ordered on Sunday. We had dinner at Alexandra Village, ordering our usual sambal kangkong, beancurd and stingray.
