I met my ITP supervisor in school yesterday and passed Georgina my SAT book to photocopy on the way; I got an A for my first month's grading. Charlene takes her TP this Saturday, good luck!
I went to RELC Building to book my SAT I test, but didn't; my first impression was that it looks like a hotel, and indeed there's a RELC Hotel. The examinations bureau is on the third level.
I went back to school yesterday for a World Skills Competition workshop, which was lame; I'd rather have slept. It was all about stress management, but I have no stress. As William Hung said, just give it your best.
I woke at 7.30am for the first time since ITP started. I met Xiu Yu and had breakfast at Bukit Merah McDonald's, where the assistant manager was very polite, the kind of good service I appreciate.
I did nothing productive on Monday and, for the first time, got sick of programming. Today I met Pei Jun for lunch at my downstairs coffeeshop, having the wonton mee for the first time in months.
I met Patrick and Denis, my primary school classmates and friends of over a decade, our first meet-up in over a year. We had breakfast in Bugis, then headed to Sim Lim Square.
Yesterday I had lunch at NYDC in Holland Village, wanting the mushroom side dish but it wasn't ready; I've craved it since Georgina ordered it on Li Xiang's birthday. At night I had dinner at China Square.
I went out with Laily, Serene and her boyfriend for dinner at Marche in Suntec. Afterwards we caught a performance at the Esplanade before heading home. There were pretty girls all over the streets today.
Yesterday I had lunch at Pete's Place, an Italian restaurant in Singapore's Hyatt Hotel, with my mom and two of her friends; the food was great and reasonably priced. Later we had dinner at Ikea.
Copied from Neowin: two packages are reportedly circulating online, one the source code to Windows 2000 and the other to Windows NT. At this stage it's hard to gauge the full impact of such a leak.
Yesterday Xiu Yu came over and I installed some software on her notebook; either the graphics card or the monitor cable is faulty. I skipped supper with my secondary school friends as I felt unwell.
I missed the live telecast of the 46th Grammy Awards because I just couldn't get out of bed, so I'll wait for the 10pm encore on Channel 5. Yong Tang came over for help with his FYP.
Today I celebrated my cousin's 6th birthday at Lei Garden, a Cantonese restaurant in Orchard Plaza serving what I consider Singapore's best dim sum. I've tried dim sum from many restaurants, but so far none can beat Lei Garden's.
A busy two days building the administration interface for my ITP project. Since my design skills are poor, I went with the Windows XP Silver colour scheme, and I'm authenticating users with sessions instead of cookies, which I prefer.
I just had a laksa lunch at Depot Road, the best laksa in Singapore. My dad's car has been repaired since yesterday for $140, though the IDAC chap had warned it could be almost $1,000.
Today I met my liaison officer at SP's cafe; he needed help installing Apache, PHP and MySQL, and showed him my work, which satisfied him. I then met Georgina at 2055 to collect my Heeren card.
It's been a while since I overslept, perhaps tiredness or a broken alarm. I was meant to meet Xiu Yu at 10am but woke at 9.30, though luckily my mom offered me a ride to Marina Square.
Yesterday I collected my $500 scholarship from the Singapore Toys and Confectionery Association, an unforgettable event I'll explain. The association sits on one of the streets in Geylang, which made for an interesting trip to pick it up.
Yesterday I had a steamboat dinner at Marina South with Serene and company; Terry was effectively our guest of honour, since we rarely go out with him. We tried Super Bowl, nicer than Dragon Inn.
I've finally resumed work on my ITP project, and I don't really feel stressed. When I get stuck, Google is always a great help; just paste an error you don't understand and answers usually turn up.
Yesterday I fixed a serious unnoticed bug in the wp-archives.php page that generated 644 MySQL queries on load. I had lunch with my mom and brother at Great World City; the engine stalled while parking in the carpark.
Yesterday Victor and Yong Tang came over and I helped Yong Tang with some ASP programming for his FYP; I've lost touch with ASP since finishing my own. I quite like his idea, a system to check bus arrival times.
