Updated 4 Of My WordPress Plugins & 1 New WordPress Plugin

I have released updates for 4 of my WordPress plugins namely, WP-Polls 2.13, WP-PostRatings 1.05, WP-Stats 2.06 and WP-UserOnline 2.06. These 4 plugins have been internationalized. You can now easily localize it by translating it into your own language by modifying the .po file that is inside the zip with PoEdit.

I have also release 1 new plugin called WP-Ban. It enables WordPress Admin to ban users by their IP or host name from visiting your WordPress site. When the banned users visit your WordPress Site, they will get a message which can be edited via WP-Admin -> Options -> Ban -> Ban Message.

Looking beyond Microsoft Vista – Fiji And Vienna

As we all know that Microsoft Vista was originally scheduled to be released in 2003, after two years of Windows XP, but it got delayed by over five years due to various reasons. Definitely, Vista is very very improved OS over the previous versions, but the delayed in the launch has cost Microsoft, billions of dollars. Now the question at the moment is, what exactly after Vista? Microsoft can’t afford to wait another five years for an operating system. People are becoming more aware of the choices they have, and Linux is no longer a hobbyist OS, and that day isnt far away when it becomes simple enough to be a viable alternative to Windows. The competition is fierce. That is why, to stay at the top, Microsoft has planned a ‘Vista R2’, codenamed ˜Fiji which will be released some time in 2008. And after Fiji, there will be Windows ‘Vienna’. Windows Fiji, will not be a totally different OS from Vista; but it will be an add-on. Whereas Vienna will be totally different from Vista.

Windows Fiji will feature a more powerful sidebar, Monaco, a music authoring tool similar to Apples Garageband, default playback of HD-DVD, more advanced Speech Recognition, and new themes, icons, wallpapers, games, and minor tweaks to almost everything.
While in Windows Vienna the current interface will be completely stripped, no more explorer shells, and taskbars. No start menu. Probably no toolbars, or menus and Speech Recognition will become a major input device. One thing is for certain, Vienna wont be just an operating system, but a new generation in computing.

DMMT Gathering

Had a DMMT gathering yesterday at Marina’s Sakae Sushi organized by Charlene, people turn up includes Charlene, Stacey, Zhi Wei, Zhi Ming, Terry, Hafiz, Ron, Lynn, Lester Goh, Xiu Hui, Laily, Suqin, Li Xiang and I. It was rather coincidence as we saw Zhi Fan and his girlfriend too. This is the 2nd time I have been eating Sakae Sushi within this week. After dinner, it was quite hard to find a place to chill out as everywhere is so crowded due to it is a Friday night. So we end up at Suntec’s Starbucks which closes at 1am.

The first time was also a DMMT gathering at Wheelock’s Sakae Sushi organized by Hui Juan, people turn up includes Hui Juan, Jie Lin, Xiu Yu, Elaine, Wei Quan, Choon Sing, Alvin and I.

Formatting Computers

Flag Of Our Fathers
Caught Flag Of Our Fathers last week, it was quite a touching movie and alongside with it, it was quite gory. But overall it was not too bad of a show. It is more of a documentary than a action war movie like Black Hawk Down. And it is the first time I knew something called war bonds. LOL. Anyway, Black Hawk Down is still the best war movie I had seen.

Formatting Computers
I have been formatting 3 computers within the last 4 days.
