School’s Laptop
Lunch at Holland Village: beef noodles from a noodle house, nicely different from usual. Headed to school to collect the laptop, but the procedure was a hassle: every group member's admin number, contact and signature required.

My first JSPG lecture, with an Indian lecturer whose Tamil-English slang I'd dreaded. The first minutes were fine, then the accent crept in, but it wasn't bad. I've encountered worse when I worked at the help-desk.
My GAME Programming lesson felt like an advanced take on IGRA's first practical. This module seems to cover concepts of game programming rather than the coding. Then FYP discussion, finalising the database structure and layout colours.
First day of the new semester, Year 3, Semester 1. Time flies; I remember my Year 1 days. Mondays will be my most relaxed, an FYP discussion at school. Lunch with Lian at Mos Burger, Orchard.
A new semester starts tomorrow, welcomed by ridiculous rules. Our School of ICT and Business gate is shut, so we must enter via the Dover entrance, the nearest temperature screening point. Hugely inconvenient for us all.
Too tired to post, under ten hours sleep daily. Spent the afternoon re-coding the entire DMMT module, wondering whether I can do it in ASP.NET. Kuey Chap at Toa Payoh Lorong 4, long queue as ever.
It's been a while since a site update. I've refreshed the DMMT module to reflect my third year in poly, and added a new poll, 'How Fast Is Your Internet Connection?', so cast your vote now.
Here are my 2003/2004 Semester 1 modules in the Diploma in Multimedia Technology, Stage 3A: Ethics and Law of IT, Multimedia Group Project, Java Server Programming, and the rest of my third-year subjects.
Met Lian at Raffles City, where Levi's had a mini exhibition for its 150th birthday. Lunch at foodcourt; the hotplate beancurd was decent. At Suntec City, I grabbed Nike shoes from Why Pay More? for $59.90.
Meant to meet friends at 11am at Harbour Front Centre's McDonald's, though they were late, turning up at 11.30 while I'd arrived at 10.45. Next time I'll be late on purpose. Cheap dim sum buffet, $10.80++.
Up early for me at 8.30am, with breakfast at Pasir Panjang Hawker Centre; the coffee lady still recognises my mom and me, and knows our usual drinks. To school for an FYP discussion, the scheduling almost finalised.
Shocking news from the Blizzard camp: founding members Max and Erich Schaefer, David Brevik and Bill Roper have reportedly resigned. I just hope this doesn't derail Starcraft 2. The full story is over at DiabloII.net.
My mom meant to drive me to Orchard for my copy of Frozen Throne, but my cousin offered to fetch me, so I woke at 11am, losing two hours' sleep. Bought two copies with free posters.
Went to school for FYP meeting, but missed bus 147 and waited 30 minutes without one appearing. Unlucky, a crappy morning. At SP, I had to enter via Dover MRT since our ICT gate wasn't open.
Had minced pork noodles at the Bestway building after a month; I used to eat it every Saturday. At night, dinner at Singapore Swimming Club, spending the $90 credit they give members, $30 a month accumulated.
Met Lian at Raffles City, dropping by Planet E+G store. A sign claimed Warcraft III: Frozen Throne arrives 7 July. Not sure it's true; the worldwide release is 1 July, and Singapore was first last year.
My cousin fetched me at 10am, and we headed straight to the Creative building. The queue was already 200-strong by 10.30, half an hour before the 11am opening; no surprise it started forming the night before.
Played Frozen Throne last night to test if LANCraft works. It does, so I got a few rounds before bed. Met Lian at Compass Point, breakfast alone at Harbour Front Hawker Centre; the mee siam terrible.
Dim sum with secondary school friends was meant today, but few going and no one calling, I assumed it was off. Lunch alone at my downstairs coffeeshop, then home for some rounds of Warcraft III with Lian.
Lunch with my mom at Amara Hotel foodcourt, the best Korean food I've ever had. Came home for some Warcraft III: Frozen Throne, where so much has changed and been added that it really enhances the game.
Went to City Link's HMV for Lian's Kinki Kids single before meeting her at Raffles City. To Suntec's Nokia Care Centre to upgrade her Nokia 8250's software, two hours wandering Suntec. Light snack at Burger King.
Another boring Saturday, nothing but Warcraft III with Lian and Counter-Strike on the Khabal server. Dinner at Lavender Street food centre, famous for its wan ton mee. Tasty but pricey for the portion, $3 a plate.
