Today's the official opening of the North-East Line, running from HarbourFront to Punggol in 30 minutes. Had breakfast with Lian at my downstairs coffeeshop, then took bus 85 to Harbour Front, formerly the World Trade Centre.
Lian came over to drop things, then to Heeren's HMV to check if her Kinki Kids single was in. Sadly, it wasn't; released in Japan the day before, so HMV needs a few days to import.
Lunch at Bugis with mom and brother. Mom returned the loan car to workshop and drove my uncle's while he's in Vietnam. Mos Burger: seafood burger dry and gravy-less, but corn soup beat Ngee Ann City's.
My cousin came over to download files, stuck on 56k. Mom was meant to fetch me to the Accord Distribution Centre in Jurong by 12.30pm, but by 1.30 she hadn't shown, a mix-up fetching my brother.
Lian came over this morning, so I burned her Finding Nemo and VS.NET 2002. Then to Liang Court for her DARS Chocolate; she's addicted. Lunch at the Cineleisure foodcourt in Orchard, where Lian's laksa tasted weird.
Woke at 10am despite sleeping at 4am, then breakfast at Hotel Phoenix Café to mark Father's Day. Tried their famous nasi lemak; I don't see the fuss, it tasted ordinary. Booked my fixed instructor at BBDC.
A boring Saturday spent home learning to generate static HTML from PHP using my templating system. Dinner at Zion Road Hawker Centre: prawn noodles, while my mom tried the prawn noodle soup. Then Great World City.
Lunch with mom and brother at Great World City: Kenny Rogers, three months since I last had it with Lian at Marina Square. Home for Warcraft III with Lian till evening, then designing my CMS layout.
Lian came over to burn a CD, then lunch at the Novena Square foodcourt, one of the best-looking in Singapore; I love its design. Had tom yam ban mian, the soup growing tastier with every sip.
Lunch at Bukit Merah. The fried kuey tiao is great. It's been a year since my last visit, and nothing's changed; old and run-down. Home for Warcraft III with Lian, then code clean-up. Watched Joe Millionaire.
Lunch with my mom at the new Hans on Pickering Street, first level of Pidemco Centre. The design is grand, like dining in a hotel coffee house, music and ambience and all. Likely their main outlet.
A bad morning. After my shower, the tap wouldn't turn off; a part had broken, and water wasn't leaking but pouring out. I grabbed extra pails to save it and woke my brother to watch things.
Woke in the afternoon and bought my brother's Nokia 6100 from the M1 shop at Paragon, $220 after trading in his Nokia 8250. His Nokia 7210 goes to my mom, but her SIM card's too old.
Minced pork noodles for brunch at Bestway building, then out with my uncle to the PC Show at Singapore Expo. He's after a digital camera. Being Saturday, packed; ten minutes to walk from screening to hall.
Woke early at 8.30am and met Lian at 10am for breakfast at Tampines McDonald's. Singa porridge had so much ginger it was more ginger than chicken. Watched Finding Nemo at 11.30, 100 minutes; I liked it.
Lunch with my mom, then United Square to buy the HPR-20 radio and portable handsfree attachment for my T610, $54. My first visit since United Square's renovation; it looks much nicer, with a few food stalls.
Woke at 9.30am to meet Lian for early lunch: minced pork noodles at Marina Square, then a drink at Mos Burger. Wandered Suntec before school for my first FYP meeting; the client was 15 minutes late.
Woke before noon expecting early pickup, but waited until 2.30pm for my mom. Lunch at Clementi Hawker Centre; I love the wan ton mee, $3 a big portion. BBDC to book lessons, but every timeslot full.
Woke in the afternoon. Mom brought back one of my favourites: Hainanese vegetable rice from Pasir Panjang Hawker Centre, plus the teh-si-peng from the drink stall. Now that school's on, I rarely get there for breakfast.
Woke early at 9.45am to pray for my granny and at Waterloo Street temple. Prayed granny first, then breakfast at Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh, before praying at Waterloo Street since my results are out.
Claypot laksa from Depot Road for breakfast. I'd planned to head to Orchard alone, but Lian messaged wanting to go out, gladly accompanied. We covered all of Orchard Road, from Far East Plaza down to Centrepoint.
A game I've waited months for, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, has finally gone gold on 29 May 2003. It hits shelves on 1 July, priced at around US$35, continuing the tradition of previous Blizzard titles.
