I was invited to the blogger session of Canon’s First Product Launch for 2011 at the brand new Canon Imaging Academy (CIA) which is just located right beside their office at Keppel Bay Tower!
The CIA will focus on developing new curricula, courses, and events that will enhance the imaging experience of programme participants. Courses planned for 2011 include basic photography, intermediate photography, strobist, studio lighting, creative photography and editing with DPP courses. The CIA will also introduce videography courses in 2011 to meet the increasing demand of enthusiasts who enjoy creating movies using Canonâs LEGRIA camcorders. For those who prefer a greater emphasis on hands-on experience, the CIA will also offer photography outings and overseas photo clinics. Each of the courses are designed to suit the varying skill-levels of participants from beginners to intermediate.
Finally got the chance to buy the Canon EF50mm f/1.8 II Lens. The RRP for it on Canon’s website is S$159, I got it for S$128 at Alan Photo Trading and bought the filter for it for S$15.
Bought the Canon EF-S18-200mm f3.5-5.6 IS Lens from Alan Photo on Saturday for S$1,070. I regretted not getting the Canon 50D Kit III instead because at that time I have no clue about photography. I wanted something cheap and simple but now I finally know the limitations of the Kit I Lens aka EF-S18-55mm. I wanted a multipurpose lens and it seems the EF-S18-200mm fits into the bill and recommended by others.
Bought the Lens Pen as well for travelling purposes!
