Hari Raya Haji, a public holiday. Woke at 1.30pm and called Lucas, who wanted to head to Suntec. Had my lunch, my breakfast, then met him and a few friends, including Shaun, at Suntec around 3pm.
School ended at 5.30pm, early compared to 6pm. The PCT lesson ran longer because some coursemates, I don't know who, fed back during the dialogue session that the lecturer goes too fast and releases us early.
School ended at 3pm for Lian and me, so we walked Orchard. Lian wanted Kinokuniya at Ngee Ann City and HMV for her things. She'd planned to buy jeans, but schoolwork came first, so we browsed.
Woke at 11.30am for the CNY gathering at my mom's ex-colleague's, with lunch before leaving at 2.30pm. To Bras Basah for my brother's table-tennis shoes, I never knew table tennis had shoes, but the shop was closed.
A cooling day, my body felt comfortable throughout. School ended early at 5pm, as the VBAS tutorial does. Took MRT to Bugis for a look, where Lian wanted Mos Burger and to buy my Valentine's present.
School ended at 1pm, though I stayed till 3pm on my MMAD Task 2 while waiting for pinktasy and gang. Lian's friends and mine came for a CNY steamboat dinner; plenty of food, a good time.
My 2nd PCT lesson, despite the 5th week. It's alternate weeks, and the lecturer was on reservist. Ended early as usual; he's good. Suntec after school with Lian, we shared a Kenny Rogers meal, both hungry.
Woke at 11.30am again, fetched Lian, then headed to my mom's friend's place for an Indian cuisine lunch, good food, even better than last year's visit. Left around 2.30pm and dropped by my maternal grandmother's place.
Woke at 11.30am, visiting my paternal grandfather's then my aunt's house, lunch; I'd missed her cooking. She was my childhood guardian and watched me grow. Left after 2pm for Great World City to watch Shanghai Knights.
Woke at 11am to mee sua with shredded chicken and abalone, my CNY breakfast since childhood. Then the rounds: my maternal grandmother's, her sister's, and my paternal grandfather's. The usual circuit of house visits, as ever.
Prayed for my grandmother, then a reunion dinner at Swensen's with my family. Another reunion dinner on my dad's side, too full to eat. Saw my cousins, first time in a year. Watched VCDs all evening.
I like Thursdays for the VB practical. VB has no kick next to Java, but Visual Studio.NET suits these apps better than JBuilder, friendlier and faster. Wandered Suntec after school for a drink at Coffee Bean.
Lian skipped school for polyclinic: two hours queuing to see the doctor, then another two for the medicine. Poor Lian, standing so long. At least she got an MC. Lunch at Great World City with mom.
Lunch at school before Plaza Singapura to watch 8 Mile, its foodcourt under renovation, reopening February 2003. Helped Charlene buy their 8 Mile tickets for the 6.45pm show. First time buying NC-16 tickets, I got ID-checked.
Marina after school with Lian, craving the famous minced pork noodles there. Better on weekdays; the queue's so short I waited barely five minutes, versus the hour-long wait on weekends. What a huge difference that makes.
Friends came to work on MMAD Task 2, due 7 February, after Chinese New Year. Sian. I hate being first group to present: no idea what to expect or what the teacher asks, despite first pick.
Bought my bus concession stamp at Hougang South Interchange, then National Library to return Lian's book. Had fishball noodles from the coffeeshop, lovely, cheap at $3, generous ingredients and huge fishballs. This Fashion at Dhoby Ghaut.
Great World City for dinner; my brother and I had the Express Teppanyaki, then groceries at Cold Storage. Wanted Nike socks from Royal Sporting House, but they only had white, not the coloured ones I wanted.
Had my VB practical, easily my favourite module, fun and easy. Hoping for an AD. Otherwise the usual at school. Came home and spent the whole night, till now, getting my site back up and running.
The site's back up on a temporary URL until I buy www.orientek.net. Only polls down; too lazy to edit files, so I'll pull them until I code my own poll script. Email me about broken links.
Westwood has announced that Command & Conquer Generals has gone gold, hitting shelves on 11 February, 19 days away. The press release promises it puts players on the pulse of modern warfare as a powerful commander.
Blizzard has announced an expansion to Warcraft III, titled Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, due around July, roughly a year after the original launched. Key features include one new hero per race, each with powerful abilities.
