FYP Major Problem
Just as we were ready to start programming our FYP, another major problem surfaced. The client's IT staff emailed to say they don't have the .NET framework installed, so everything we learned about ASP.NET is wasted.

New Bookshelf
Slept at 2.30am after playing CS, woke 11.30am for a Korean breakfast at Amara Hotel. Across the road, a condo showflat; I think the manager acted in Unbeatables II. A unit costs about a million dollars.
Marina South Steamboat
Steamboat dinner with my secondary school friends at Marina South, a send-off for one enlisting in the army on the 28th. Marina South is packed on weekends, and with bus 400 full, we ended up walking.
Crash Course
Two hours at school for an ASP.NET crash course; I picked up more, and prefer lecturers to books. To my mom's office to sort her computer, which stirred memories of when Lian worked there last year.
In The End
Linkin Park's 'In the End' feels meaningful now; Lian liked them too. It starts with one thing, and no matter how hard you try, in the end it doesn't matter. Time is valuable, slipping by.
Thought It Through
Dinner at Ikea, my first in a few weeks, where I bought a new bookshelf for around $100. My old one is too small and nearly collapsing, its shelves bowing. I'll assemble the new one tomorrow.
Love Hurts
Lunch at Mos Burger in Ngee Ann City; the sweet memories came flooding back. A food fair was on, the Italian ice cream pricey at $2.80. Mom claimed her BreadTalk birthday cake voucher at Wisma Atria.
Love Experiences
Skipped school, tired and only a two-hour PROJ lesson. My break-up with Lian has set a lot in motion; if she gets together with another friend, it'll strain that friendship. Talked to her for an hour.
Feel So Comfortable
After an hour's good chat with Lian, I feel comfortable, like a weight has lifted off my shoulders, and she feels the same. Most things are resolved. We're good friends now; she won't look back again.
Things Get Complicated
My instinct was right: this wasn't a simple break-up; things keep getting complicated. I want the truth instead of being kept in the dark, but I've heard only bits and pieces. Avril Lavigne's 'Complicated' fits perfectly.
Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines
Today's GAME practical was tough, heavy on maths and built on earlier practicals, so you can't afford to miss one. We've an ASP.NET crash course Saturday with our MMAS lecturer. Watched Terminator 3 at Plaza Singapura.
Mind Slightly Clear
FYP discussion at school; I mostly listened and helped. Lunch at foodcourt 6 with Lian and a group member, though I watched them eat. Caught Basic with Jacky's group at Tiong Bahru, a messy film like Hero.
Lost And Confused
Woke and dozed off again and again, my mind still heavy with everything, though lighter than the night before. Lunch at the Marina Square food court brought back good memories of Lian: Mos Burger, movies together.
Sad Day
A sad day, though I half expected it; good things don't last. For now we'll be friends, after almost a year together. Time for some soul-searching and change, then maybe I'll try to win her back.
Mom’s Birthday
My JSPG practicals echo the DSAL ones, reading and writing to files, though I'd forgotten some syntax. Came home early since Lian finished at 4pm. It's my mom's birthday, so dinner at Swensen's for dory fish.
School’s Laptop
Lunch at Holland Village: beef noodles from a noodle house, nicely different from usual. Headed to school to collect the laptop, but the procedure was a hassle: every group member's admin number, contact and signature required.
First JSPG lecture
My first JSPG lecture, with an Indian lecturer whose Tamil-English slang I'd dreaded. The first minutes were fine, then the accent crept in, but it wasn't bad. I've encountered worse when I worked at the help-desk.
MS SQL Server 2000
My GAME Programming lesson felt like an advanced take on IGRA's first practical. This module seems to cover concepts of game programming rather than the coding. Then FYP discussion, finalising the database structure and layout colours.
Year 3 Starts
First day of the new semester, Year 3, Semester 1. Time flies; I remember my Year 1 days. Mondays will be my most relaxed, an FYP discussion at school. Lunch with Lian at Mos Burger, Orchard.
SP Rules Are Retarded
A new semester starts tomorrow, welcomed by ridiculous rules. Our School of ICT and Business gate is shut, so we must enter via the Dover entrance, the nearest temperature screening point. Hugely inconvenient for us all.
Tried Saturday
Too tired to post, under ten hours sleep daily. Spent the afternoon re-coding the entire DMMT module, wondering whether I can do it in ASP.NET. Kuey Chap at Toa Payoh Lorong 4, long queue as ever.
