Synology DiskStation DS413j Review – Unboxing + Setup

I am being seeded the Synology DiskStation DS413j alongside with 3x WD Red 1TB hard disk drives for a 3 part review. For the first part, I will talk about the unboxing and setting up of the DS413j.

Since I only have 3x WD Red 1TB and the DS413j is a 4-bay NAS, I went to Sim Lim Square to get another WD Red 1TB so as not to let 1 of the bay goes to waste. I didn’t realized that WD Red 1TB is a pretty old HDD and most of the stores carry 2TB onwards. Luckily Bizgram still has some WD Red 1TB left. So I bought it for S$120.

Samsung Launches Asia’s First Samsung Mobile PIN in Singapore

Yesterday, Samsung launches it’s first Samsung Mobile PIN in Singapore (the first in Asia as well). It is located at Ngee Ann City’s Civic Plaza or what is known as Takashimaya to many others. Samsung Mobile PIN was first launched at the London Olympics in 2012.

Samsung Mobile PIN is essentially a pop-up store that allows you to experience/play with all the latest Samsung devices. Currently they have the Samsung Galaxy S III (LTE), Samsung Note II (LTE), Samsung Galaxy Camera and the Samsung Note 10.1 (LTE) on display.

Adobe Creative Suite 2 (CS2) Is Now FREE

Adobe Creative Suite 2 (CS2) which was released on 2nd April 2005 is now FREE, yes FREE as in $0, you can download it from the official Adobe CS2 Download Page or from the table below which I copied out.

Do note that for the Mac version, it will not work with the current generation of Macs as it is meant for Power PC based Mac instead of Intel based Mac. You need to be using Mac OS X 10.2.8 to 10.3.8 or Rosetta in order to get it to work.

Alienware Arena @ Lucky Chinatown

Alienware recently opened their second Alienware Arena in Singapore at Level 3 of Lucky Chinatown. This Alienware Arena is conceptualised by Alienware from the group up. The first Alienware Arena in Singapore is located at #B1-01/02/03 of Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station (NE6) and that was bought over from JCube Cybercafe and rebranded to be Alienware Arena.

Alienware Arena @ Lucky Chinatown houses about 140 Alienware’s X51 desktops with Dell ST2420L monitors, Alienware keyboards/mouses and Razer Goliathus (Control Edition) mouse pads. I wished they ditch the Alienware keyboards/mouses for Razer keyboards/mouses instead.

Timbuk2 Dime Bag

I think the Timbuk2 Dime Bag is a discontinued product, I could no longer find it on timbuk2.com. That explains why it is 50% off at Cineleisure’s Timbuk2 shop. The usual price was S$29, and now it is selling for 50% off (S$14.50). The only colors available are red and green.

Do note that the Timbuk2 shop at Cineleisure has moved from #02-03 to #02-10 (beside Xin Wang Hong Kong Café). The shop name has also been changed to Bratpack.
