Aqara Camera E1 is the latest security camera from Aqara that was launched early this month. It retails for S$99, and you can get it from Souky’s Shopee Store.
Aqara Camera E1 is essentially a strip-down version of the Aqara Camera Hub G3 and hence it is about S$100 cheaper. Aqara Camera Hub G3 retails for S$197.90.
I have used multiple Google Nest Cam in my current house, which has served me well. The connection is stable. The only time it went down was when my Internet was down. I even subscribe to Nest Aware for ten days of 24/7 video recording. I have integrated my Nest Cams to Apple HomeKit using Homebridge with Homebridge Nest Cam Plugin. The integration works well as well.
For my new house, which I hope to move into in Q4 2023, I am seeing if I can integrate smart home devices directly into HomeKit without running Homebridge on my Synology NAS.
Arlo Go 2 was officially released in Singapore back in February 2023 and retails for S$399. As the name suggests, it is the successor to Arlo Go.
Here is a table showing the differences between both cameras. The main differences would be the resolution upgrade to 1080p and additional wi-fi connectivity on top of 4G LTE. The price was cut by almost half, from S$799 to S$399.
Poly Studio P5 Kit comes with various options like the Blackwire headset, Voyager headset, and Sync Bluetooth speakerphone.
I have the review unit for the Poly Studio P5 Kit With Sync 20+. This review will be about the Poly Studio P5 Webcam. The review of the Poly Sync 20+ will come at a later date.
There are four main lines of security cameras from Arlo. Arlo Ulta, Arlo Pro, Arlo Essential, and Arlo Go. Arlo Ulta supports 4K HDR video recording, while Arlo Pro supports 2K HDR video recording. Arlo Essential supports 1080p video recording, while Arlo Go supports 720p recording as it is meant to be used with a 4G plan.
I was looking for a cheaper alternative to the Xiaomi Mi Selfie Stick Tripod, and I found the Yunteng Selfie Stick Tripod Stand on Lazada that cost only half the price. I got it at S$11.54.
Unlike the Xiaomi Mi Selfie Stick Tripod, the mobile phone holder of the Yunteng Selfie Stick Tripod Stand doesn’t rotate. So if you want to switch between portrait and landscape, you have to unscrew the holder, rotate it, and screw it back again.
I am still a novice when it comes to photography. So for all my products shots, they are being taken by my Canon PowerShot S95 point and shoot camera. The S95 has been with me for more than 11 years. Both the battery and the LCD screen started to show signs of aging. So I decided to retire it.
I then switch to my Sony NEX-3N which I bought seven years ago in 2014. However, the moment I turned it on after being left untouched for a few years (I stored it with the battery removed), the LCD screen showed multiple red lines. I mean, it is still usable, but it isn’t very pleasant to use it. I might also retire it eventually.
I received the Nest Hello Doorbell (Wired) on 7th September 2021, and on 9th September 2021, the first problem occurred. There is no ring light around the Nest Hello. I restart the Nest Hello by switching on and off the transformer plug, and it works great after that.
