Bought the Google Chromecast from Amazon for US$35 (S$44) excluding shipping. Google Chromecast is similar to Apple’s AirPlay technology using Apple TV.
If you are in the US, you can watch Netflix, Hulu Plus as well as movies, TV shows, and music from Google Play. However for normal users in Singapore, there is nothing much you can do with it beside streaming YouTube videos and mirroring your Chrome tabs.
Ignore the long product name, it is basically a 9-port USB 3.0 powered hub with an additional USB charging port. Technically you can use all the 9 ports for charging as well but they might not be enough current because each of the 9 port can output a maximum of 900mA. From the USB 3.0 specifications, 900mA is the maximum amount of current that can be output from a USB 3.0 port.
I was invited to a Dell event 2 days back and they announced new laptops (Latitude, Inspiron & XPS) and new tablets (Venue 7, Venue 8 & Venue 11 Pro). Since most of the stuff are still to be announced (TBA), I will start off with this post on Inspiron 14/15/17 7000 series, Inspiron 11 3000 series & Inspiron 23 all-in-one as I got all the prices for it and you can already get it now from Dell.
Backed the Crabby Wallet on Kickstarter on 9th April 2013, the project got funded on 3rd May 2013 with a total of US$308,838 raised though the initial goal was only US$10,000. I bought 2 Crabby wallets, an orange for myself and a pink for Li Xiang. Paid US$16 + USD $16 + US$5 (shipping) = US$37 (S$46).
They have some mixed up and instead of pink, they shipped a purple to me despite the contents on the delivered envelope stated pink. But Ryan from Crabby Wallet is kind enough to send me a new pink Crabby Wallet and at the same time I get to keep the purple! Thank you Ryan!
Been waiting for the Innergie MagiCable Duo Lightning Connector for a long time, ever since Apple announced the Lightning cable. After more than a year, Innergie finally released it!
I bought it at Wheelock Place’s EpiCentre for S$49. The only reason I bought it is to blog about it, otherwise I see no reason to get this overpriced cable. Seriously, S$49 for a cable that has just both Micro USB and Lightning connection? Amazon is selling it for US$30, which is slightly cheaper.
The High Tech Multi-Tool Adaptor is like a Swiss Army knife for gadget. It has 3 cable heads (Mini USB, Micro USB & Lightning) for syncing and charging, a SIM card holder and a phone stand.

In my blog post about Panasonic Mobile Booster QE-QL101 last year, I did mention about the large capacity portable battery from Panasonic which has a capacity of 10,260mAh. I did not manage to find that in Singapore. Instead, I saw it in Thailand and I bought it for TH฿3,990 (S$160.40), and after a 7% VAT refund, it cost about S$150.
Don’t let its massive physical appearance deceive you. It is pretty light weighing at 490g. It is slim as well, and the thickness is almost the same as a standard USB port.

Been almost 9 months since I did an upgrade to this site, so I guess it is time for me to post a site update. Most of it is about optimising the site so that it performs faster and better.
