WordPress 2.8.5 has been released. This release makes your WordPress even more secure:
- A fix for the Trackback Denial-of-Service attack that is currently being seen.
- Removal of areas within the code where php code in variables was evaluated.
- Switched the file upload functionality to be whitelisted for all users including Admins.
- Retiring of the two importers of Tag data from old plugins.

I don’t understand why they released the new version so quickly after the last update 2 months ago.
I don’t see any changing in this new version. It’s not really necessary to upgrade.
Saw this update Yesterday and the first thing which I did
was Backup my Db and updated the wordpress. Though wordpress are releasing very quick update.. 😐
Lester,
I’m trying to use one of your plugins “WP-PostRatings 1.5” for my WP 2.8.5 site. The plugin seems to install fine, but after enabling ratings in my post via [ratings] shortcode, I see an error on the page.

I also tried disabling Ajax to see if it’s because of that but with no luck. Can you help me out ?
Thanks,
Madhu

Doh! If your comment is not approved automatically means it has been flaged as potential spam by Aksimet!
