WP-ServerInfo 1.60

I have updated WP-ServerInfo to 1.60.

There are 2 changes only:

  1. The major change was adding support for memcached stats if your server has it and your PHP is compiled with it
  2. The other was to tidy up and use readme.txt instead of readme.html so that user can see all the information (including screenshots) within the plugin page itself.

Moving forward, whenever I have time to spare and when I am updating my plugins, I will port the respective plugin’s readme.html to readme.txt to keep it consistent.

Rest assured that my plugins are NOT dead, just not as active as before due to work commitments.

I am always using the latest stable version of WordPress for my website, lesterchan.net, and hence I will make sure that the plugins are compatible with the latest version of WordPress.

WordPress 3.6

WordPress 3.6 has been released!

User Features

  • The new Twenty Thirteen theme inspired by modern art puts focus on your content with a colorful, single-column design made for media-rich blogging.
  • Revamped Revisions save every change and the new interface allows you to scroll easily through changes to see line-by-line who changed what and when.
  • Post Locking and Augmented Autosave will especially be a boon to sites where more than a single author is working on a post. Each author now has their own autosave stream, which stores things locally as well as on the server (so much harder to lose something) and there’s an interface for taking over editing of a post, as demonstrated beautifully by our bearded buddies in the video above.
  • Built-in HTML5 media player for native audio and video embeds with no reliance on external services.
  • The Menu Editor is now much easier to understand and use.

Developer features

  • A new audio/video API gives you access to metadata like ID3 tags.
  • You can now choose HTML5 markup for things like comment and search forms, and comment lists.
  • Better filters for how revisions work, so you can store a different amount of history for different post types.
  • Tons more listed on the Codex, and of course you can always browse the over 700 closed tickets.

Show Your Love for the Top 100 WordPress Plugin Developers

ManageWP wrote an article entitled, Show Your Love for the Top 100 WordPress Plugin Developers. I am ranked 5th on the charts =D

Quote

We’ve spent rather a lot of time gathering and sorting data for the top 100 WordPress plugin developers, based upon total number of downloads. Unless you are brand new to WordPress, it is likely that you use at least one plugin created by the developers below.

All you need to do is pick out one (or more) of your favorite developers, and take a moment to thank them. We’ve collected all of the Twitter accounts we could find, but we are sure you can find other ways of getting in touch if your chosen developer doesn’t have an account listed.

Firing off a quick tweet to thank a developer for developing great free products will only take a moment, so why not do it?

Furthermore, if you’re on the hunt for plugins to check out, you will find a comprehensive list below of the most popular plugins available for WordPress. Just remember to thank the developer if you start using one!

Top 10 WordPress Plugins Developer

Thanks for the support guys =D

Lester Chan’s WordPress Plugins July 2008 Update

Here is my July 2008 WordPress plugins update containing all my 15 WordPress plugins. All of them should work on WordPress 2.5 as well as WordPress 2.6. It is not tested for any version below that.

In general, most of the updates are bug fixes. These updates in theory should be able to work till WordPress 2.7 when it comes out end of this year.

My new semester will begin on 2nd week August 2008, and hence I will be busy with my school work. So no updates to my plugins will be out till the end of this year unless it is a critical bug or a security issue.

Be sure to read the readme.html and checkout the changelog for more information and most importantly NOTE THE TABS AT THE TOP
