Apple USB Ethernet Adapter

Got the Apple USB Ethernet Adapter for S$35.51 (normal price is S$38) from iStudio located in Changi Airport Terminal 3 while I went to Malaysia for my birthday celebration.

As you are aware by now the MacBook Air does not come with an ethernet port because of its slim design, so if you need to use a LAN cable for MacBook Air, this adapter is your best and only bet. Call me old fashion but I still prefer to transfer files over LAN as it is the speed is much faster and more stable.

Innergie Magic Cable – 3-in-1 Retractable USB Cable

When I first saw the Innergie Magic Cable – 3-in-1 Retractable USB Cable (Amazon.com link), it was at Challenger in VivoCity last year, but when I wanted to get it, it was out of stock and hence I settled for the 3-in-1 Retractable Charging Cable from Deal Extreme.

During my vacation in Thailand, I spotted it again in Power Buy, a shop located in CentralPlaza Bangna shopping center. It cost TH฿390 (S$16) and of course, it goes without saying, I bought it. In fact, it is the only thing that I bought in Thailand during my 4 days vacation over there.

Samsung MHL Cable

I have problems finding MHL cables in Singapore for my Galaxy Nexus. MHL stands for Mobile High-Definition Link and here is the definition from Wikipedia:

Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) is a proposed industry standard for a mobile audio/video interface for directly connecting mobile phones and other portable consumer electronics (CE) devices to high-definition televisions (HDTVs) and displays. The MHL standard features a single cable with a low pin-count interface able to support up to 1080p high-definition (HD) video and digital audio while simultaneously charging the connected device.

Chef Sleeve For iPad

I was sent the Chef Sleeve (for iPad) for review all the way from the US. The Chef Sleeve is essentially a transparent plastic bag that you can place your iPad in when you are using it in the kitchen when cooking or baking.

This ensure that your iPad will not be dirtied by the grease on your finger or flour on the table when you need to use it in the kitchen (for checking recipes online or even watching YouTube for cooking/baking tutorial).

Nokia At Mobile World Congress 2012 – Nokia Lumia 900

The Nokia Lumia 900 was announced back in CES 2012 which supports LTE and exclusive to AT&T. During Mobile World Congress 2012, Nokia announced that the Nokia Lumia 900 will also be available in a HSDPA+ Dual Carrier (DC-HSPA) variant, for high speed data connection (42Mbps download) in countries where LTE is not available (like Singapore).

It seems that for the upload part, we are still stick with HSUPA instead of HSUPA+ Dual Carrier (DC-HSUPA) as it has not been completed.

Nokia At Mobile World Congress 2012 – Nokia Lumia 610

Nokia Lumia 610 is the only new Lumia phone announced at MWC 2012 (Nokia Lumia 900 was announced at CES 2012). It is announced in conjunction with Microsoft’s strategy of lowering the minium hardware requirements and hence the cost of Windows Phone to consumers.

Windows Phone OS now supports a lower cost processor, the Qualcomm 7x27a “system on a chip” running at 600MHz with reduced memory of at least 256MB and hence making it more affordable to emerging markets.
