Nokia At Mobile World Congress 2012 – Nokia Lumia 900

The Nokia Lumia 900 was announced back in CES 2012 which supports LTE and exclusive to AT&T. During Mobile World Congress 2012, Nokia announced that the Nokia Lumia 900 will also be available in a HSDPA+ Dual Carrier (DC-HSPA) variant, for high speed data connection (42Mbps download) in countries where LTE is not available (like Singapore).

It seems that for the upload part, we are still stick with HSUPA instead of HSUPA+ Dual Carrier (DC-HSUPA) as it has not been completed.

Nokia At Mobile World Congress 2012 – Nokia Lumia 610

Nokia Lumia 610 is the only new Lumia phone announced at MWC 2012 (Nokia Lumia 900 was announced at CES 2012). It is announced in conjunction with Microsoft’s strategy of lowering the minium hardware requirements and hence the cost of Windows Phone to consumers.

Windows Phone OS now supports a lower cost processor, the Qualcomm 7x27a “system on a chip” running at 600MHz with reduced memory of at least 256MB and hence making it more affordable to emerging markets.

Nokia Purity HD Stereo Headset by Monster

I actually won the Nokia Bluetooth Stereo Headset BH-221 and my friend, Trent, won the Nokia Purity HD Stereo Headset by Monster.

But because the Purity HD Stereo Headset is Fuchsia (Pink) in color, he don’t really like it. So I swapped with him as I can give it (Purity HD Stereo Headset) to my wife.

Crumpler Sleeve – The Fug (13 Inch MacBook Air)

Brought Crumpler’s The Fug (Black) which is a very slim neoprene sleeve for my 13″ MacBook Air from Paragon‘s Crumpler store, it cost S$55, but if you are a CitiBank credit card holder, you enjoy a 10% discount. I ended up paying S$49.50 for it.

I was contemplating between this and the SwitchEasy’s Thins, but ended up I went for this instead because:

Twelve South BookArc

The Twelve South BookArc (Apple Store – Singapore link) which cost S$65 is my second birthday present from Li Xiang!

The Twelve South BookArc holds up the MacBook Air (2nd generation) upright which frees up table space if you are not using your MacBook Air’s screen as a secondary monitor. There is also a gap in the stand which allows the power cable to pass through.

Apple MacBook Air 13 Inch (Mid 2011)

When I first joined mig33 back on 1st February 2010, I got a brand new MacBook Pro 15″ (Mid 2009) running on Intel Core 2 Duo (2.66 GHz) and with 4GB of DDR3 SDRAM. Over the years, my MacBook Pro became slower and slower as applications get more and more intensive and OS gets more and more resource demanding.

I made a couple of “complains” to my immediate supervisor and eventually he approved my Purchase Order (PO) to get a new MacBook.
