Was searching for DOCTYPEs for XHTML 1.1 and came across Wikipedia article on XHTML 2.0.
After reading it though, I can’t wait for XHTML 2.0, the features looks great. Below are 3 of the features that I picked out.
» Any element will be able to act as a hyperlink, e.g., < li href="articles.html" >Articles< /li >, similar to XLink. However, XLink itself is not compatible with XHTML due to design differences.
» Any element will be able to reference alternative media with the src attribute, e.g., < p src="lbridge.jpg" type="image/jpeg" >London Bridge< /p > is the same as < object src="lbridge.jpg" type="image/jpeg" >< p >London Bridge< /p >< /object >.
» The alt attribute of the img element has been removed: alternative text will be given in the content of the img element, much like the object element, e.g., < img src="hms_audacious.jpg"/>HMS < em >Audacious< /em >.
Look at what you can do with Microsoft Paint. This guy is good.
Caught Deja Vu today. It is a good show, my eyes was glued to the huge screen throughout the entire movie. The technology they used to trace the criminal is uber leet. If anyone can invent that, they can be richer than Bill Gates.
Found another expensive chocolate shop, located inside Spain 2 Dream, called Chocolate Factory. Bought a pack of sticks of chocolate, cost us $17.
Monday 7pm, marks the end of my exams, time to relax and update my plugins, and if I have time HTMLise my new layout.
Windows Vista
I have installed Windows Vista on my computer. The GUI is really good, but it lags my computer or rather it does not run as fast as Windows XP run on my computer.
My Windows Experience Index:
Processor : 3.2
Memory (RAM): 3.8
Graphics: 5.9
Gaming Graphics: 4.9
Primary Hard Disk: 5.2
You can check the specs of my current computer under About -> Toys. I think Windows Vista need duo core and at least 1GB of ram to run smoothly.
Now I am considering whether to stick to my XP or buy the OEM of Vista Home Premium.
Happy Feet & Open Season
Caught Happy Feet and Open Season, 2 movies within a day, back to back at Vivo City today. Both movies are not bad. Will be watching Deja Vu tomorrow at Vivo City also. Hope to watch Flag Of Our Fathers too.
To My Ah Dear: Sorry if I neglected you for the past 2 weeks due to my exams, I will make it up to you =D
Had the famous Mee Rebus and Soto Ayam located at Bedok Central Hawker Center before proceeding to Sitex 2006. It cost only $1.50 for the Mee Rebus and $2.00 for the Soto Ayam, and the portion is quite a lot. Cheap and good, best Mee Rebus and Soto Ayam I have eaten, not doubt about it.
Sitex 2006
I do not really like this year Sitex, nothing much to see and the walking path is so narrow. Imagine going on a weekday after lunch hour and there is barely enough space to walk in Hall 4. Hall 3 was very space out, but not Hall 4. I think this year they focus a lot of laptops. For other stuffs, I think you can get it at the same price in Sim Lim Square on any ordinary day.
They should be more focus and let only IT related companies set up booth there, I have no idea what is Prudential doing there, and furthermore they are located at a place where traffic is quite high.
» Wanted to buy CDRs and DVDRs, but did not fancy any, the choices are quite limited.
» Wanted to buy those $12 mouse pad (Battle Pad), but didn’t come across any.
» Wanted to get Logitech G3 Laser Mouse, but my mouse is not spoilt yet.
» Wanted to get a Sony DVD Writer because my TDK writer just fuck me up so many times (DO NOT BUY TDK Writer) but didn’t come across any.
» Wanted to upgrade my current 120GB HDD to a 300HDD, but after some thought, I rather save the money for my Intel Core 2 Quad in 2008.
To counter Starhub free laptop/desktop deals, Singnet is giving away a Sony Bravia 32″ LCD TV (Worth $1999). Not a bad deal I must say.
Site Issues
» I have more or less finalize the revamped layout, it will be similar to this current layout.
» I will be using FamFamFam icons for the new layout.
» The header image will be designed by LiXiang.
» It will not be 800×600 friendly, but it will be as IE/FF/Opera friendly as possible.
» There is currently a wap version for the blog section, in addition, I will create a mobile version (for PPC users) for the blog section.
» WordPress will be upgraded to 2.0.x, and it will be used to managed the whole site. No more static pages, all will be dyamically generated.
» New/upgraded WordPress plugins will be launch bit by bit, those that I create personally for this site.
» The site will be validated in XHTML 1.1 Transitional.
Exams
Left 2 more papers, MA1301 and CS1231X, all will be over next week. Back to study.
I think Singaporeans like to whine a lot.
Bus too cold also complain, bus too hot also complain.
People don’t give up seat for the elderly/pregnant in the MRT also complain.
Teenagers kissing in MRT also complain.
Students sell ice cream door-to-door making some allowance also complain.
Lights did not off at some places also complain.
Fucking bunch on whiners.
Been busy redesigning this site and studying for my exams which will start this Friday and my last paper will be on 4th December 2006.
Ah Dear Birthday
Celebrated ah dear birthday at Cafe Swiss located at Swissotel The Stamford. Food there was good but not really to our liking. It is similar to Ikea style but I still find Ikea food nicer because they put an Asian touch to it.
Bought my ah dear an Adidas Jacket and an Adidas Singlet. As for the cake part, I bought for her a heart shape cookie cake from Famous Amos which is too sweet for our liking.
Happy 23rd 22nd birthday my dear!!! Love you lots <3 <3 <3
Flushed Away
Recommended. Interesting storyline and is funny. I think nowadays cartoon movies are much more worth watching than normal movies. Next cartoon I will be watching will be Happy Feet.
Casino Royale
Another James Bond flick, I don’t quite like the story line. In terms of action, I like the beginning part because I think that is where the most exciting action lies. In terms of new identity, I still prefer Pierce Brosnan than Daniel Craig, he is more charming and got the “seh”.
Internet Connection Upgrade
Finally upgraded my Internet connection from Maxonline 4000 to Maxonline6500 and soon it will be Maxonline 12000. I will have a downstream of 1.5 MB/s and upstream of 48 KB/s
Question
Have you all wondered what will happen if you run out of drive alphabets in Windows? Like C:\ to Z:\ are all used (A:\ and B:\ are reserved for floppy drives)?
Answer
The next drive you plug in, Windows will still detect it, just that it will not assign it any drives alphabet and thus you cannot access it.

Microsoft Windows turns 21 today. Microsoft first launches Windows 1.0 on 20th Nov 1985.
Believe it or not Windows is 21 years old on Monday. When it was launched in 1985 the PC market was barely out of it’s infancy, and whatever you may think of Microsoft it is amazing what they Bill Gates & Co have built in such a relatively short time.

In honour of Windows birthday and to celebrate it’s coming of age, here are 21 things you never knew about Windows, Microsoft and Bill Gates:12. Between 1986 and 1996 Microsoft’s stock soared hundredfold and it was estimated that Microsoft had created 10,000 millionaires by 2000.
18. Bill Gates scored 1590 on his SAT. Paul Allen, scored a perfect 1600.
19. The Windows operating system has 50 million lines of code (a line averages 60 characters) and grows 20% with every release. It’s put together by 7,200 people, comes in 34 languages and has to support 190,000 devices’ different models of digital cameras, printers, handhelds and so on.
