My Plugins Compatibility With WordPress 2.5
Below is a list of my plugins in development that WILL work with WordPress 2.5. The reason why I consolidated it here is because the current version of the listed plugins does not work properly with WordPress 2.5.

this is the error i have using your postview 1.2 on wp2.5
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare postviews_textdomain() (previously declared in /home/joneh/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-postviews/postviews/postviews.php:34) in /home/joneh/public_html/wp-content/plugins/postviews/postviews.php on line 35.

If the plugin is not listed here, it means that the current version of that respective plugin will work fine in WordPress 2.5.
I thought it work but not. Can you tell me if i have done something wrong or anything I should do before activating it.

As I said, there is a path change. WP-PostViews 1.20 path is /wp-content/plugins/postviews. Read the readme.html under installation tab

Sorry, should have been more specific. I’m on WP-Email 2.30 Beta 2. I followed the instructions perfectly. What happens after the send button is clicked is that everything disappears except the top line, which says something like, Send this email to this person now.. So you don’t even get the confirmation. Thanks for your help…

I tried the 1.30 v of WP-Sticky and for whatever reason the site shows no posts and the manage tab indicates that there are no posts as well. Looking forward to a working version of this great plugin for 2.5. Thanks, Lester!

Did you read the readme.html under Installation Tab? This site is using WP-Sticky 1.30 on WP 2.5 and it works fine.

I upgraded to WP2.5 today and upgraded Wp-Email to 2.30 BETA 2. Everything seems to work fine, only an email is never actually sent. I’ve tried it on two different websites now, and neither one will send an email.

Great work at keeping those updated with WP 2.5! After the initial shock of getting a lot of database failures, and WP 2.5 unable to download a newer version of WP-Polls automatically (but correctly removing it!), I was scared I’d never see my polls again.
Fortunately this Beta version of yours seems to work fine. I still have a little trouble viewing the Polls Archive, but it could be something related to the way WP Super Cache works… which is still slightly buggy. Not your fault, though!

WP-PageNavi, when activated, disables the ‘visual editor’ view (shows up as HTML editor) on a Mac running both Safari and FireFox.
Any fixes soon? Thx in advance.

eddie: I have no mac to test on. I am using FF on Windows XP and the visual editor works fine for me. And I don’t see why pagenavi will disable Visual Editor as they are totally unrelated. Thank for update, very helpful! One suggestion, can you include this “beta N” tag into version number of plugin, it’s very (ok, somewhat) hard to keep track of which beta N is installed right now, because it’s not shown in the “plugins” wordpress tab.

Thanks for the update for WP 2.5 It works. If I make one suggestion though for the next update for WP-Print 2.3.x On my WP 2.5 site I run a plugin called “collapsible elements” with which one can ajaxify a whole bunch of things. Unfortunately, the collapsing elements do not print, no matter what. Would that be worth looking into for the next release? Good luck and best wishes for your exams.

I noticed while adding the plugin to a client’s website that you call the function htmlspecialchars_decode() in the beta version of the wp-email plugin. Unfortunately, this is not available in older versions of PHP.
If you are set on having the functionality, you may add the following into your plugin to duplicate it. (I add it in all my plugins that need the function.)

wordpress ratings doesn’t work:

And it’s there!
But if i come from an other plugin like ‘instruction manual’ it does find the url but it doesn’t find any ratings…. (there are 7 ratings on my site)

I installed the plugin WP-Polls 2.30 into my Wordpress 2.5-blog. The poll is working fine, untill I enable WP-Cache 2.1.2.
While WP Cache enabled, the poll keeps showing up (and not the results). How can I make WP-Polls work correctly with WP-Cache enabled?
I would really appreciate your help, because I can’t figure out how to make this works.

GaMerZ. I haven’t found a solution for the WP-Cache problem yet.
I have a question. Is it possible to change the interface of the results-screen that shows up when someone has already voted?
When someone votes, the result-interface shows up (without the possibility to return to the poll itself). If this result-interface is cached by WP Cache, others don’t get the chance to vote. Is it possible to create a link such as ‘Vote for this poll’ bewlow this final result-interface?
I would really like to know how to do that!

Bob: This is the default behaviour, by default after user voted or already voted, the result screen will appear. I would suggest disable WP-Cache then you will see the normal behaviour of wp-polls.

I was very disappointed to see that the WP-Email plugin is not suited for the WordPress 2.5 upgrade. Therefore I did a little research. I may have found a solution that allows me to email without a problem on one of my sites I’m still developing. Yet, since it is still in the development stage, I thought I would share the info with you and see what you think…
When I tried to run the plugin it kept saying that there was an undefined function in the “add_shortcode” just under the notes “### Function: Short Code For Inserting Email Links Into Posts/Pages.” I deleted that line and then uploaded the wp-email.php file.
Also, I was reading the Migration page at http://codex.wordpress.org/Migrating_Plugins_and_Themes#Migrating_from_2.3_to_2.5 and noticing that under the Admin screens there is a bit of code that I added to the Email Administration Menu that is needed for WordPress 2.5. I added:

// 2.5 logic, calling add_meta_box to define the screen
} else {
// 2.3 logic, calling add_action( ‘dbx_post_advanced’ ) or similar
}
the Administration Menu and it seems to work.
Finally, I noticed that the image verification only works if you type lowercase letters even though they are capitalized in the picture. Otherwise I get an “instantiate” error. Well I hope this helps someone.

@Bob It is a plugin called jQuery AJAX Comments but I have tweak it to work with WP2.5. That should be the case because if the user has voted why would he want to see the voting form? If he sees the voting form, he would want to vote again. Currently if you set to Do Not Log, it will always show the Voting form by default regardless whether the user has voted or not.
@Beth Do not use the auto upgrade, download it from here manually. Does the auto upgrade upgrade you to WP-Polls 2.30 from WP-Polls 2.21? As I have not made it official, I don’t see how is it possible for it to upgrade you unless it is a bug in WordPress Plugins Repo ( http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-polls/ still shows 2.21)

@OrdinaryJoe Sorry didn’t notice your comment is waiting for moderation. If you get WP-Email 2.30 Beta (you can download it in this post), it will work on WordPress 2.5. I have just tested it on a fresh copy of it. If you are getting a shotcode error, I would recommend you to re download a fresh copy of WP and try again ( http://forums.lesterchan.net/index.php/topic,1811.0.html ) as I am unable to reproduce this error on a fresh copy of WP2.5 with WP-Email 2.30. In the mean time I will see whether is this a common problem with other plugins. I think my plugin is one of the first few to use shortcode (not including the gallery)

@ GaMerZ. Thanks again for your reply. I searched a while for a Ajax-commenting plug-in like you have. I tried ajax-comment-posting of regua, but it didn’t work in Firefox using Wordpress 2.5. I just tried jQuery AJAX Comments. It works in Firefox, but behaves kind of strange in IE.
I don’t want to be insolent, but would you mind sending me your modified jQuery AJAX Comments-plugin? Of course I will give you a special thanks on my blog. I would really appreciate it!

I went thru the upgrade process f Wp 2.5 and everything went fine.
I have a question though, I dont kow i you’ll have time to answer me:
I have a quite narrow sidebar. For the WP-PostRatings widget that I use in my sidebar (highest rated articles) I would like the stars to be display “below” the post title. To do so i’d simply need to add a breaking line in the HTML file. However I dont know where to go. Do you think you can help me?

Hello,
I upgraded wp to 2.5 and wp-polls to 2.30 and …. not working good. I have 13 polls now. When i using for example [poll id="8"] in post, it displays last poll which has id13.
For example if i using [poll id="8"][poll id="9"] it displays two times in row poll 13.
Any advices?

I am unable to reproduce your problem. Make sure that the polls are active ie not closed. Go to the HTML tab when creating a post and click on the POLL BUTTON

For those of who are having 404 error with the wp-email image, it is most probably an suExec error. Your Cpanel error log may show the line ‘SoftException in Application’ for the file email-image-verify.php.
chmod 644 the wp-email directory and all the php files in it will fix the errors.

I’m having the 404 error, and I am not running suExec. All modules are run as nobody on my server (since, well, it’s my dedicated server).
I’m not seeing anything in the error logs, and my permalink structure is /%postname%-%postnumber%

I use wp-poll 3.0 beta with wp 2.5.1.
I have a trouble with this plugin since I always see the same poll (the one indicated in the widget, i.e.: the last, one in particular …). Same problem that Marcingz.
I was checking the problem and it comes from the poll id. It allways is $id=0.
I change the code of wp-polls.php (in a not elegant way) in order to force the proper number to the $id. In the function poll_shortcode I wrote the following lines:

extract(shortcode_atts(array(’id’ => 0, ‘type’ => ‘vote’), $atts));

Download the latest version of WP-Polls, it should be fixed. Make sure that you are not using the Visual Editor Mode when inserting the code.

this happened to my comments box after the upgrade to WP 2.5, and I found a place where I could just type 500 instead of 100%, but in this plugin, it has math and such that confuses me.
can you take a look and see if you have a suggestion of a line to change that will set the maximum width to something like 400 pixels wide?

first, thanks for developing these awesome plugins.
I am using both wp-postratings (1.2 on 2.3.3) and wp-polls. I was actually going to email you directly about possibly porting your postratings plugin into a comment-ratings one as well. Should be pretty quick, no? I started to try this myself by simply doing an automatic find/replace of every occurrence of ‘post’ to ‘comment’, and ‘ratings’ to ‘ratings2′, which gets you a good part of the way there. Realizing that there likely needs to be a separate new database table created, something like ‘comment-meta’, I figured I might as well see if you could port it.
What do you think?
My goal is to use the comment ratings to have spammy comments buried by the readers, and have the DoFollow links that I want to use as a reward (including for the top comment for each post on the blog index page) be calculated from the comment ratings, similar to “top post” etc.

I’m upgrading my site to WP 2.5.1 from 1.5 and have depended on Adhesive. So I appreciate sticky. just installed 1.30, but “Sticky” does not work. “Announcement” does work, but not “Sticky”. I’m using php5 on my site.
I’m guess I’m ok, since I only really need the one sticky post, but I figured you’d want to know that I’m having problems with Sticky 1.3 on WP 2.5.1.

Thanks for WP-polls, first.
I’ve recently updated it from 2.11 to 2.30 (I’m using WP 2.5.1).
First problem: how to align them to the right? (which file to edit?)
Second: Users are no longer able to view the archive. I do not have the default folder name (/pollsarchive/ ) on my site, and I’ve been unable to find where the older polls are stashed.
I can, however, see them all on the admin page.
Any advice?

I am sorry but while I hoped your plugins would satisfy my needs they just appear to be poorly coded.
I am on the latest version of WordPress with your latest plugins for ratings as well as the pooling but they just spin forever.
You dont even check for pathing errors.
Do I need to look elsehwere or can we expect your coding to be complete in nature. The potential you have is there just not the execution.

Thanks for your criticism, I really appreciate it. If you think you can do better than me, feel free to go and code one yourself.
WP-Polls/PostRatings get the settings from your WP-Admin options. You are accessing the site with www and your option is without www of course your browser block the AJAX as it is different url (technically) for security issue. Your should mind your pissing attitude nevertheless.
