When I joined mig33 on 1st February 2010, I received a MacBook Pro 15-inch (Mid 2009) with a 2.66GHz Core 2 Duo and 4GB RAM. Over the years it slowed as apps and the OS grew more demanding.

In my Looking Back 2010 post, I wished to visit the US and see snow in 2011, and I did, posting this from my uncle's house in LA. Having never seen real snow in 26 years, Snow City excepted.

Nokia World 2011 – Post Event
On my last day before flying home, I woke at the same time and checked out at 9am. Thanks to the team at 1000heads, who minded our luggage at their office while we went sightseeing. First stop was London Eye.

Nokia World Day 2 also began at 9am, with the opening keynote by Colin Giles, head of Sales. As the second and final day, with nothing new to announce, the crowd was thinner, so this post has more pictures.

I woke at 7.30am and met the other bloggers for breakfast at 8am in the hotel lobby, before heading to ExCeL London for Stephen Elop's opening keynote. The venue was about a five-minute walk away. We arrived just in time.

Steve Jobs passed away yesterday at the age of 56. As Apple put it, the company has lost a visionary and genius, and the world an amazing human being. Those who knew him have lost a dear friend.
Canon Product Launch For 2nd Half 2011
I was invited to Canon's product launch for the second half of 2011, held at Zirca on Thursday, 29th September. It covered seven PIXMA inkjet printers, ten imageCLASS laser printers, three PowerShots, two IXUS cameras, and a projector.
Logitech Harmony 300
I got the Logitech Harmony 300 for S$49 at Comex 2011 last week. It's a universal remote that controls up to four devices, such as your TV, cable box, Xbox 360, and media player. I'd planned on the Harmony 200.
D-Link DNS-320
I bought the D-Link DNS-320 (S$109) and two Western Digital 3.5-inch Caviar Black 1TB drives at S$115 each, at Comex 2011. Despite a bad experience with the DNS-323, I went D-Link again, since this is for my mom's office.
HP TouchPads at Comex 2011
At HP's Booth 8428 Direct Counter, the 16GB and 32GB HP TouchPads sell for S$118 and S$188 respectively, before GST, during the first two days of Comex 2011, 1st to 2nd September. Just 100 units of each are available daily.

This year, Nokia Connection 2011 took place within CommunicAsia, held for the first time at Marina Bay Sands. Nokia CEO Stephen Elop delivered the opening keynote. The main highlight was the Nokia N9, with Symbian Anna and new dual-SIM phones.

Singapore Food Expo 2011 takes place at Singapore Expo Hall 5 from 27th to 31st May, open 11am to 10pm daily. One of the largest food events in Singapore, this year's edition features more than 100 exhibitors.

In today's press release announcing iPad 2 availability across 25 more countries this Friday, Apple confirmed Hong Kong, Korea and Singapore will get the second-generation tablet sometime in April 2011, a little after the initial wave of launches.

Looking Back 2010
Last year in Looking Back 2009 I said I wanted a job, and I got one as a Web Engineer at mig33, starting 1st February 2010, nearly a year now. I'll spend this New Year's Eve in the cinema again.
