My mom ordered 4 Dell Vostro 220 Mini Tower Desktop computers for her company last week. This week, 3 units came on Tuesday and 1 unit came on Wednesday. I was there on Wednesday to help her setup the computers. I managed to setup everything for the 3 units that came on Tuesday. So happen when I wanted to setup the unit that came on Wednesday, there was a problem! The first time I switch on the PC, I got a BOSD after reading Dell’s EULA. After rebooting, it will load Windows XP and then hang at the “Pre-installing Factory Settings”. I tried like 10 times, all the same results. Ran the diagnostics CD that came with the PC as told by the Dell telephone support personnel, but I can’t seem to find any problem with the hardware like the HDD or the RAM. So I suspect it must be either the motherboard or the integrated graphics card as those are not tested in the diagnostics.
Dell’s engineer came down today and said there was a problem with the motherboard bios configuration and he changed the whole motherboard and now everything is fine.
In the thread, Gmail + push on iPhone w/ Prowl on xSellize forums, crimsontwo gave instructions on how to run the Prowl python script on your iphone. The downside to it is that if your iPhone connection change from EDGE to 3G or 3G to Wifi or any vice versa, the script will be disconnected from Gmail. To solve this problem, he recommends you to upload the script to your own web server instead.
I received the Birthday Party Bash Wii game by 2K Play 3 weeks ago. Played the game during our “Games Day” which is on the 1st August 2009 to celebrate the end of our internship!
Birthday Party Bash as the name suggest is extremely suitable to be played during birthday parties as the focus of the whole game will be on the birthday boy or girl. When you start the game, you will get to choose 3 options, “Custom Party”, “Quick Party” or “Free Play”.
City of Dreams is HP Digital Festival happening from 7th to 13th August 2009 at Ion Orchard Basement 4.
I attended the event with Li Xiang yesterday, thanks to Amelia from Waggener Edstrom for the invite. The event was a short and sweet event, these days I kinda like short event where it will not last more than 2 hours. I think I am getting old here. Talk to a few bloggers there and we realized we grew to a point that we are sick of typing so much stuff and instead post more pictures and let it do the talking.
Finally I have received the retail unit of LG GM730. Preciously there was a big commotion among the bloggers who received the LG GM730. Some report that the battery looks old and hence that explains the extremely short battery life of less than 12 hours on standby, some also reported that there are scratches on the phone and on the battery. That made us wonder whether the unit given to us are the final unit (they told us it is the final one) or some prototype unit as it has the word “Not for sale” embossed behind the cover. To make matter worst, we received it in a press release A4 size file holder which only consists of the phone, battery and charger. I am glad everything is sorted out and we have received the retail unit of the LG GM730 in a proper box in exchange for the previously worn-out unit.
Here are some unboxing pictures. I will do a review on it soon. Pretty busy right now.

I finally clicked on the magical link called “File For Graduation” as I will be graduating this semester. My last paper will be on the 3rd December 2009! My course is a 4 years course but because I was from polytechnic (Singapore Polytechnic) I got 33 Module Credits (MC) exemption which adds up to about half a year worth of modules and hence I graduate one semester or half a year earlier! Woot
The be.ez LArobe Netbook Cases is available in 5 colors, namely, Black & White, Blue, Green, Pink and Red for the 10.2″ models. It’s dimension 26.6cm x 19.2cm x 3cm and it weights 172 grams which is about the same weight as the Cool Bananas Netbook Envelope Case which I reviewed few days before.
The sleeve is made in a soft, shape-memory material using Low Resilience Polyurethane (LRPu) technology and the thickness of the form is 5mm and it also features and inner lip for maximum protection. This will absorb significant amount of knocks to your netbook. I believed (not tested) that it will also reduce the impact on your netbook if you drop it a low height.
My internship with Sedgwick Richardson ended last Friday exactly on the 31st July 2009. This week is my one week school holiday before my school starts on the 11th August 2009.
This will be my final semester and finally I can get to click on the “File for Graduation” tomorrow after the modules that I bid have been allocated to me.
Received the 4th and final challenge of Teach a Technophobe last week! But both my mom and I was pretty busy and both of us only manage to complete the 4th challenge today.
The 4th challenge involves using a camera to record a video to spread your views on the E75’s email capability. Since my mom is a little camera shy, she do not really want to face the camera. So I thought why not ask my mom to use the E75 to record a video of something and then email me the video so that I can upload it to YouTube.
