Leap Motion is a tiny device that allows you to use your hand to interact with your computer other than using keyboard, mouse or trackpad. Just simply wave your hands above the Leap Motion controller and it can detect your hands movement. Think of it as Kinect for computers but smaller and works on both Windows and Mac.

It can tracks all 10 fingers up to 1/100th of a millimeter, your movements at a rate of over 200 frames per second and have wide field of view (150°) and a Z-axis for depth.

D-Link DIR-868L AC Router Review
· ·

The D-Link DIR-868L Wireless AC 1750 Dual-Band Gigabit Router is retailing for S$319 (Challenger’s member’s price: S$279) which is pretty steep for a router. It is still cheaper than the Cisco Linksys EA6500 AC Router when it was first launched.

The DIR-868L is a draft IEEE 802.11ac router that supports simultaneous dual band (2.4GHz + 5GHz) and can give you speed up to 450Mbps + 1,300Mbps. It is also a “cloud router”, in the sense that you can access your router basic settings via mydlink Lite app on iOS or Android.

Bluelounge Kii

Bluelounge Kii started selling in Singapore this week and is retailing for S$49. I got mine from EpiCenter at JEM.

Kii is a compact charger-connector (Apple Lightning or Apple 30-pin) that fits on your keychain. For the Apple Lightning connector, 2 colors are available, black or white while for the Apple 30-pin only black is available. It seems that EpiCenter is only selling the Kii with Apple Lightning connector (both black and white).

CDN Serving Dynamic PHP Pages
· ·

Mark Jaquith‘s presentation on Confident Commits, Delightful Deploys brought up something which I didn’t thought of, “CDN proxies everything including dynamic php pages”.

In his example, he pointed out cdn.wpengine.com and wpengine.com, cdn.page.ly and page.ly, cdn.zippykid.com and zippykid.com are all serving the same content with their CDN counterpart.
