I always wanted to get a Logitech Harmony Remotes for my television and media player, but they are pretty expensive, finally they announced something more affordable which is the Logitech Harmony 200. It will be available in Singapore by early September 2011 for a recommended retail price of S$39. Hopefully just in time for Comex 2011 which is happening from 1st to 4th September 2011 at Suntect City.
Firefox 6.0 is officially released despite the final build got leaked out 2 days ago. Firefox 6.0 is released 2 months after Firefox 5.0 and 5 months after Firefox 4.0. Soon, people will just lose track of version number and it will no longer be meaningful! I have lost track of what is the current version of Google Chrome!
As you know by now, I am a huge fan of Bluelounge products, my latest purchase from them this time round is the CableClip. I got all 3 sizes (Small, Medium & Large) from Challenger at Funan. Each cost S$16.90 and after 10% member’s discount, it cost S$15.21. I have to say these clips are pretty expensive, but I think of it as supporting a company that makes great products!
Went to StarHub Shop at VivoCity on the 24th June 2011 to apply for MaxOnline Infinity which is Starhub fibre Internet service. I chose the MaxInfinity Elite plan which has a download speed of 150Mbps, upload speed of 75Mbps and international speed of 15Mbps. It cost S$82.18 per month for a 2 year contract.
They did not tell me when they are coming to set up the fiber Internet service. I waited a month and they called me on the 3rd week of July 2011 saying they will come on 26th July 2011 to install the service.
HP announced that the Wi-Fi version of the HP TouchPad will be available in Singapore on 12th August 2011 onwards from authorized retailers (Best Denki, Courts, Harvey Norman), and direct from HP
Windows Phone “Mango” aka Windows Phone 7.5 has been Released to Manufacturing (RTM) which means we are going to get it soon (I am guessing September/October 2011)! The RTM build of Mango is 7720
I wanted to drop into the Windows Phone Blog briefly to update you on an important milestone. Earlier this morning, the Windows Phone development team officially signed off on the release to manufacturing (RTM) build of âMangoâ â the latest version of the Windows Phone operating system. This marks the point in the development process where we hand code to our handset and mobile operator partners to optimize Mango for their specific phone and network configurations. Here on the Windows Phone team, we now turn to preparing for the update process. The Mango update for current Windows Phone handsets will be ready this fall, and of course will come pre-installed on new Windows Phones.
OS X Lion
Mac OS X Lion is finally released, it cost US$29.99 in the Mac App Store. I was downloading this at 11MB/s (megabytes not megabits) yesterday night! If you have a slower Internet connection, Lion will be made available on a USB thumb drive through the Apple Store (Singapore) for S$88. Mac OS X Lion is the eighth major release of Mac OS. It has more than 250 new features such as new Multi-Touch gestures, system-wide support for full screen apps, Mission Control, Mac App Store, Launchpad and a new re-designed Mail app.
It seems that Xcode 4.1 (App Store link) is free (usual US$4.99) for OS X Lion only and FaceTime is included in OS X Lion (App Store Link) (usual US$0.99).
I have joined the Microblogging bandwagon and Posterous is my weapon of choice. I chose Posterous over Tumblr because the UI of Posterous is clean and intuitive and even the Posterous’s iOS App is pretty well done.
Personally, I think Tumblr has too much features for me such as the sharing of Text, Photo, Quote, Link, Chat, Audio and Video. I personally going to use a microblogging service to share photos with some text only and hence Posterous fits my needs.
