Apple announces iPad 2 at yesterday iPad event. I was too tired to catch the event live via live blogging, so I only checked it this morning. It seems that most if not all the rumors are true, Facetime, dual camera, Photobooth, Dual Core A5 and available in white.
The hardware difference between iPad 2 and iPad is the upgrade to dual-core Apple A5, back and front camera, three-axis gyro and of course the support for CDMA network. In terms of physical design, it is about 100 grams lighter but 50% thinner. iPad 2 is now available in white as well, looks like they solve the problem of painting in white. iPad 2 prices is the same as the iPad, Apple did not make it cheaper this time.
Flickr introduces Flickr for Windows 7 and Windows Phone 7 back in January 2011 and now it is finally available! I have been waiting for it!
This application brings the best of Flickr to your Windows 7 mobile devices. You can view your Flickr photos in stunning high-resolution display, browse through photostreams, sets and more with rich navigational features, share directly via email, Twitter, Facebook and upload directly from your device. You can also seamlessly transition from your Windows Phone 7 to Windows 7 tablet and back again without ever losing your place.
kaypo.me is an interesting service created by my fellow NUS SoC graduate, Kent Nguyen. It allows you to update your Facebook status via SMS. Not many people are on smart phones with data plan but almost everyone has a mobile plan that comes with at least 300 free SMSes per month. Even feature phones will work with this service as well.
Currently receiving or replying status’ comments via SMS is in beta, hopefully it will be available for the public soon.
Bought Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds from GameScore at Funan. It was released in the US on the 15th February 2011 but the Japan/Asia version is out only today. Europe will be tomorrow, 18th February 2011. I got it for S$52.20 after member’s discount (Thanks Benjamin)!
Cool, didn’t know Edelman is the PR agency for Facebook Singapore. Personally I prefer Facebook Check-In than Foursquare for unknown reasons.
Singapore, 16 February 2011 – Facebook today announced the launch of Facebook Places in Singapore. Already available in some countries, Facebook Places allows you to “check-in” and share with your friends where you are and who youâre with, find friends who are nearby and discover new places your friends like â all in real time.
