Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer
Caught this movie last Sunday at GV VivoCity, it was a 12:00pm show, been a long time since I caught a afternoon show, and they were LOTS of kids in the cinema and as usual with kids come noises, but when the show starts, they kept quiet, looks like their parents did their job well.

The show was average, storyline does not follow the comics and the special effects was disappointing. I will not elaborate much as I afraid I will be the spoiler.

Communicasia 2007
Went to Communicasia 2007 today to take a look at handphones. Sony Ericsson announce several new handphones on the 14th June 2007 and all the new handphones can be found there. I played around with K850i and W960i and I am quite disappointed with both of them.

K850i - The phone is thick and it lags, maybe primary due to lots of animations being added to the phone. The media gallery is revamped to make it look like PSP interface. But it lags when scrolling through and selecting media objects. It took me quite a while to find out where are the select, menu and cancel buttons because the buttons are not there! Instead these 3 top buttons are touch screen and there is only a thin white bar representing the area where I am suppose to touch! Is either I am noob of the UI failed for first time users of the phone. Nevertheless, the camera is the best thing about this phone, clear, crisp and sharp. Not much significant updates from K 800i/K810i besides the stuff mentioned above.

W960i - I was impressed by the thickness of this phone, it is very thin, I think the K850i is twice the thickness of this phone. I am not used to this UI either maybe because it is using UIQ. The stylus for this phone is going to be a very negative point because it is made of some cheap plastic which I think breaks easier and when you hold it, you can feel the plastic is bending. The keypad provided is pretty useless besides using it to call and sms. All the menu selection have to be done by touching the screen. Nevertheless the thickness and the internal 8GB memory for this phone is a plus point.

LG Shine/ Samsung - Tried some phones from LG and Samsung, but I can’t remember the model number as I am not really into LG and Samsung, I am more of a Nokia/Sony Ericsson person. Basically the only thing I don’t like about LG shine is the scroll button because it looks flimsy.

Shrek 3
Caught Shrek 3 2 weeks ago at GV VivoCity, it was a Friday midnight show and I asked LiXiang if she was tired because she was the one who suggested to watch a movie on that day. But her nickname “sleepy” lives up to her reputation, she felt asleep before the movie starts while they are airing the advertisements. I think after that, she woke up every now and then to catch a glimpse of the movie. Poor dear.

I watched Shrek 1 and Shrek 2 before and I can say that Shrek 3 was not a bad sequel and it is definitely better than Spideman 3 or even POTC 3.

Speaking of 3, there is Ocean’s Thirteen which is the third installment to the “Ocean series” which I am going to give it a miss. Ocean’s Eleven was good, Ocean’s Twelve was quite crap and I think Ocean’s Thirteen is going to be crap too.

Zodiac
Caught Zodiac last week at GV VivoCity again. It was one of the better movie that I have watched since the start of this year. The show is almost 3 hours long and even though there is not much action in the movie, it was a good show. It is based on a true story. Quoted from Wikipedia:

The Zodiac Killer was a serial killer who operated in Northern California for ten months in the late 1960s. He coined his name in a series of taunting letters he sent to the press until 1974. His letters included four cryptograms or ciphers, three of which have yet to be solved.

Go and watch this show if you can.

Inline Skates
I have no idea why I have the sudden interest in learning Inline Skates and my brother and I each bought a skates from Royal Sporting house. He knows how to skate while I do not know. I have my first skate lesson with LiXiang at her house void deck 2 days ago and it was fun, I am starting to get the hang of it (I am a fast learner). I learned how to ride a bicycle within a day.

Banana Milkshake

Sian my CS2261 never get A, the moderation must be damn high, I got full marks for the project that is worth 40% and the final exams is god damn easy. Sigh =(

Caught Next last week at GV VivoCity, the movie was not bad, slightly above average. My eyes was glued to the big screen practically throughout the whole movie, it was quite a action packed flim. Next movie I am going to watch is POTC 3: At World’s End at GV VivoCity also, I got 4 free tickets thanks to my mom and OCBC =D

Been busy doing lots of web programming, both for my freelance job and WordPress plugins. I hope I can finished my freelance job ASAP and get the rest of the money (60%). 40% was paid to me upfront. My client is quite good, he did the design and I did the programming and translating psd layout to xhtml layout. And the changes that he made are always very minor. I can’t stand those noob clients who keep changing and changing and those changes are major changes, we are talking about layout and not typos/font/alignment/position. Screw them.

I enjoy doing my WordPress plugins more than my freelance job even though I do not get paid for it. It is so weird. I think I must stop feeling that way, if not I will end up sleeping on the streets rather than in a proper house.

Anyway, to all my WordPress plugins users, everything is right on schedule, I will release most of my updated plugins except WP-Wap and WP-ServerInfo which I have nothing to update, on 1st June 2007.

28 Weeks Later
Caught 28 Weeks Later at The Cathay, it is my first time watching movie there and the building is confusing and the carpark is bloody cramp and small. GV VivoCity still rocks.

Anyway, the show was quite average only, I think 28 Days Later was better, I wonder will there be 28 Months Later. It was not really a scary show but LiXiang being a penguin was scared to death and could not sleep the whole night. Don’t see her so fierce, but actually she is timid and the only thing she is not scared of is me!

Spiderman 3
Caught Spiderman 3 at Lido with LiXiang and her friends after eating a Sushi buffet from Suki Sushi which is located at Cineleisure level 4. I think it will be my first and last time eating at Suki Sushi because the food there sucks. Sakae Sushi is so much better. I think among all the budget sushi eatery outlets, Sakae Sushi is still the best.

Spiderman 3 was damn boring, the action part was so short and plain, Spiderman 2 was way better. Lets hope if there is a Spiderman 4 it will be good. Because from my point of view, Spiderman 1 sucks, Spiderman 2 was ok, Spiderman 3 sucks and Spiderman 4 should be ok.

Bridge To Terabithia
Towards the last part of the movie, it was kinda sad, but overall is a crap movie. Luckily I watched it for free and at the comfort at my own home.

200 Pounds Beauty
They say it is better than My Sassy Girl, but I think My Sassy Girl is much better but overall, it is still not a bad show. I think the soundtrack should be good.

Initially I wanted to get 2 Crumpler bags from a Mass Order (MO) in Hardwarezone. But it was a flock and I got my refund back. I paid promptly and some other faggots just refused to pay and back out suddenly when the organizer wanted to place order and ask them for money. The MO was not much cheaper anyway, it was also about 10% and I paid $280 for the 2 bags listed below.

Instead I got the Crumpler bags from the Crumpler store located at Raffles City. I got myself “The Part and Parcel (Blue) (PP01A)” for $216 and got for LiXiang “The Headaitch (L) (Brown) (HD0102A)” for $96. Used my brother Apple Card and get a 10% off total bill and it amounted to $279.90 which is 10 cents cheaper than from the MO. LOL

My exams are FINALLY OVER, never in life I am so stress about exams except in NUS. The competition is so high and the students here are like 10x smarter than you, which makes you 10x stupider.

My dad bought a NEW LCD TV. When my dad told me about it, I thought he was joking because he is seldom serious. I did not believe it till my mom show me the receipt from Best Denki. It is a Samsung 32″ inch LCD HD TV (LA32R71B). I think they are cleaning stocks as the model was quite outdated and they are selling for $1299, if I am not wrong and there are only 10 sets available per Best Denki outlet. This is the first time my family have bought a TV, my house got like 4 tvs and all 4 of them are either given by us or bought with gift vouchers. Even the first tv my family got was given by my uncle.

Wanted to get a media streaming device, but I thought of a better way to stream movie to my new TV. I bought a VGA cable for $10 and a sound cable for $6 and connect my laptop to the TV and then use my laptop wireless to stream movie from my desktop PC. I spent only like $16 instead of getting a new device which cost about $200. LOL

I will be halting my WordPress plugins development for a while because I got a freelance job which I have to complete it ASAP, my client has already paid me 40% of it and the pay is good.

My parents bought for my brother and I each a King Coil queen size bed. Our previous bed lasted us for 10 years and the bed frame lasted us for 16 years. The queen size bed cost about $500+ each and it came last Wednesday.

As the bed is pretty big and in order not to make my room looks cramp, I did a major rearrangement to all the furnitures in my room (CD rack, bookshelves, study table, computer table and television stand). I got rid of my old Ikea television stand and bought a new stand from Ikea for $19. I just love Ikea furnitures, it is cheap, good and nice looking. Who cares whether or not it is lasting because you will not use it for that long either. My mom also got 2 executive chairs for us to replace our old chair which lasted for more than 5 years.

My mom will be moving into her new office soon in Enterprise Hub located at Toh Guan Road East.
