The Fail Whale is designed by Lu Yiying and made popular by Twitter. As you all may know Twitter website will show the Fail Whale picture when the server is overloaded or failed.
Zazzle and Spread Shirt are the two official websites where you can get the official Fail Whale T-Shirt. I ordered mine from Zazzle.
Iluma is one of the newest shopping center in town which is near Bugis MRT Station. It is located in between Queen Street and Victoria Street. It is quite huge and have 5 levels. I don’t think there is any basement level. I can’t seem to find a link to the official website.
Coffee Bean, Nichi Fashion City, Comics Connection, Pasta De Waraku, Thai Express, Asian Kitchen and many more are already opened for business. Nevertheless, the shopping center is still quite empty. In particular the lower levels shops are all not occupied. Come across this interesting shop called Otaku House, which sells cosplay clothes as well as Japanese Anime collectibles. There is also a new cinema at Iluma is called Film Garde, which if I am not mistaken also operates a cinema in Kallang Leisure Park.
Placed an order for my copy of WordPress For Dummies 2nd Edition by Lisa from Amazon on 5th April 2009. Accordingly to Amazon, the estimated delivery date should be on the 12th May 2009, but I guess Amazon overestimated by a lot as I received it in my letterbox today on the 16th April 2009. It took less than 2 weeks to reach me! Nice job Amazon.
Li Xiang has a surprise for us (my brother and I) for our birthday! She designed a plastic acrylic sheet for both of us. Mine is lesterchan.net whereas my brother is xeroy with a star. Thank you so much Penguin! Get well soon and drink lots of water!
Turned 25 today, and I am 1/4 of a centurion (a one hundred year old person)! This website was also borned on the 24th March 2002!
Had a simple birthday lunch at Shokudo : Japanese Pasta and Pizza at Cineleisure before catching Dragonball: Evolution. The tickets cost only S$6.00 per ticket and including a small popcorn combo set when you pay using UOB! Good deal, seldom watch movies on weekdays, pardon my slowness. Dragonball: Evolution is kinda disppointing and again, Hollywood destroy my favorite childhood anime. And who is Yum Cha? I don’t remember him in the anime.
It is just a sudden urge in me that happens last night that I wanted to finish my Curriculum Vitae (CV)/Resume as soon as possible. I have no idea why, perhaps it is the stress level of finding jobs, hearing how many graduates have problem finding jobs and how bad the World economy was especially Singapore. I spend about two days to complete my hard copy resume, the one which I am going to post/email out eventually and the one which is available on my website. I printed 3 copies to be kept in my mom’s office just in case there are visitors from her IT vendors, Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) or even Spring Singapore.
If everything goes well, I should be able to finish my studies before 5th December 2009 (it is the last day of NUS AY09/10 semester 1 exams), my convocation should be sometime next year in June. I still got about 9 more months left to go.
Woke up at 10am today, left my house at 10.30am to Suntec City with my brother for the IT Show 2009. I decided to park at Marina Square instead of Suntec City to avoid jam at the carpark. Reach Marina Square before 11am, and still manage to eat McDonalds Breakfast.
After breakfast, immediately went to wait outside level 6 of the Suntec exhibition center. While waiting, there is this lady from MediaCorp Radio approaches us for interview. She talked to me in English first and then ask me whether I can do a Mandarin interview, I agreed since I got nothing to do. She ask some questions like what are you buying at the IT Show, how often you come to this type of fair and how much savings you can save. I am so handicapped in Mandarin. I have no idea how to translate laser, router, switch, wirless USB adapter to Mandarin!

My family (parents + my brother + Huimin) were in Japan for a tour from 28th February 2009 to 11th March 2009. Now there are back, they got Li Xiang and I some gifts! Pictures paint a thousand words, so here they are!
*Phew* Finally my nervous presentation at BlogOut! 2009 was over. BlogOut! 2009 was a huge success.
There is some re-scheduling, my presentation was moved up to about 11.45am instead of 1.30pm. Once I am up there presenting, I don’t feel so nervous anymore. Elvin from Intel told me to look at the audience more often and smile which I agree. I think I am too engross looking at my screen and notes instead of the audience. Li Xiang told me that my hand moved too much and should hold onto the podium to prevent it from moving about that often. I hope I can do better next time. If I have the time, I hope to speak again at the Singapore PHP User Group when WordPress 2.8 comes out.
